WHY IS THE MINIMUM AGE 8?
We use steel needles as they are the best type for string art. Although children as young as five have used them to make cards, they tend to need a lot of one to one attention and parents are often reluctant to allow such young children to use steel needles.
WILL YOU BE TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE SESSION?
Yes, for promotional purposes, photos and videos of children at work will be taken. We respect your choice to not have photos of your children taken. If you don’t want photos of your child’s face but are okay with photos of hands at work only, we do that too.
DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SEW?
No! It's absolutely fine if the child has never picked up a needle before. We teach them how to thread the needle with a needle threader and we are there to provide support if they get stuck.
HOW MANY CHILDREN WILL BE TAKING PART?
We have space for 8 children. We keep the numbers relatively small so that everybody gets seen.
WILL MY CHILD BE ABLE TO TAKE THEIR CREATION HOME?
Yes. And they can make as many cards as they like in the hour.
