What happens in this class?

London Green are very excited to welcome Adam Hawker as a guest tutor at the workshop, all the way from Dorset, in London for one weekend only!

You will learn how to safely use the axe, knife and hook knife, what to look for when selecting wood, spoon design and how to carve with confidence. Hopefully you'll also soak up the love and passion Adam has for making these everyday functional, yet exceptional, objects.

Please arrive by 8.30am to allow time for introductions so we can start promptly at 9.00. Please bring your own lunch and any tools you may like to use. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

The venue is the perfect rustic crafty oasis in the middle of London's hustle and bustle. An ideal place for Adam Hawker (Internationally respected Spoon Carver) to come and hold classes for us Londoners. The class was ace, I'm an experienced carver who attended to pick up some of the finer details of Adam's techniques and reasoning. I accomplished my task and had a thoroughly enjoyable day. I can recommend hunting down Mr Hawker for a class if you're a beginner or at other levels of experience.

Excellent class, really clear instruction and thoughtful balance between group and individual support. I particularly liked the attention to detail in how to position yourself for axeing and knife grip techniques to allow carving accuracy whilst protecting yourself from injury. Thank you, Adam
