1.5 hour workshop
Botanical Boys are holding terrarium classes at the home to Mr Fogg’s vast collection of exotic flora and fauna which he collected on his travels. The House of Botanicals is located in Fitzrovia, ideally centrally located to travel to. So if you are the adventurous type and want to surround yourself in plants and cocktails then this is the perfect experience for a great night out.
This is an invigorating botanical venue space where you will learn how to build your very own kilner jar terrarium. Kilner jars were actually a Victorian invention and in 1842 the Kilner family started to manufacture them in Yorkshire. As the jars are fitting with the Victorian history so too is this unique venue space with the great adventures of Phileas Fogg. You will be offered a Victorian style Cocktail served by Phileas Fogg staff in Victorian attire.
On arrival you will be shown upstairs to the Botanical workshop where you will find a cosy, intimate space and the Botanical Boys will take you through the steps to build a terrarium garden to take away with you. You will have the opportunity to upgrade to a larger glass jar for an additional £20 and of course you can buy food and drinks on the night if you wish. It is a magical place you can make an evening of.
You will be given after care advice and a bag to take your garden home with you and of course the opportunity to sit amongst the amazing interior and buy some more cocktails and bits to eat. This will make a perfect evening for couples or friends just wanting to have a fun, creative alternative night out!
We very much look forward to welcoming you at Mr Foggs, House of Botanicals in the new year.

About your host, Botanical Boys
Ben and Daz of The Botanical Boys began their journey in 2009 when they took over a terraced garden in London Fields with a Japanese & formal English segments. Having no gardening experience prior, they really got stuck in and become members of the National Garden Scheme and opened up the space to the public for charity every year. They were selected for a spot on the BBC Great British Garden Revival program in May 2015 and were featured in a number of books and publications.
After a few assignments and holiday trips to South Africa and California it was succulents and their ability to be used in many structural forms, as with their sculpted Japanese and formal topiary English garden that led to a passion for creating designs on a smaller scale using air plants, cacti, succulents and a range of mosses creating beautiful terrariums.
Their love for plants and terrariums is infectious and people who join them on their workshops not only make a beautiful terrarium, but are taught about all the natural elements involved as well as provided aftercare instruction.
Prepare to have fun! As we have been given this wonderful opportunity to offer our Obby guests this exclusive venue, we politely encourage you to buy at least one other drink or some nibbles at the bar to make your evening truly special.
