Learn to Sew Clothes: Introduction to Dressmaking

If you've got the hang of using your sewing machine and want to learn how to sew clothes this is the class for you!

What happens in this class?

In the class you will use a paper pattern to sew a woven top with sleeves.

You will learn:

  • How to measure your body and pick a size
  • How to cut and trace pattern pieces
  • How to cut your fabric and make all necessary markings
  • How to cut fabric pieces on the grain/bias
  • How to sew a dart
  • How to insert a sleeve
  • How to finish your raw edges
  • How to hem
  • How to finish a neckline

The skills learnt in this one day class will prepare you to tackle other sewing patterns at home.
