The class was informative and engaging. Well-organized speakers with lots to share on sustainable sewing. Hope more new topics to cover via zoom in the future.

Really interesting and useful insight into this complex issue - there's lots to weigh up about where to get your fabric and what type of fabric you use to sew.

Great instruction to overlockers. I learned that threading them up is not as difficult as I had heard, just a little fiddley. I took my own new machine along and wished I hadn't as it turns out this singer model isn't the best, sadly and I spent too much time trying to fix the issues and no time 'test' sewing. Despite this an overlocker is my new project love!

A great idea to get together to prompt us to do some mending. Because the session was short there wasn’t time for everyone to introduce themselves which would have been nice. I’d be pleased if this became a regular event and it might be something that carers, like Vocal members, might like to join as it can sometimes be difficult for them to get to social events.

Excellent, informative session highlighting fabrics which have the greatest environmental impact and more sustainable alternatives. Also great to hear and share further ideas on sustainable practices

Thanks Jen & Monika for a great Sustainable workshop this evening. I’ve learned so much and it’s so good to see there’s loads of amazing alternative fibres, plants etc that are being used in new textile production. I’m definitely taking a leaf out of Monika’s book and making more time by putting in my diary to finish projects! Hoping to try Jen’s tips for colour combos, different patterns etc in the clothes I’m wearing 🤞
