Two session course
Glass fusing is the technique used to bond glass pieces together by melting the glass at high temperature in a kiln. Experience the joy of glass fusing. This weekend is designed to introduce you to the limitless creative possibilities of the technique. Whether you’re new to glass fusing or have tried it before, this weekend is designed for you.
The course will cover:
-how to cut glass
-using glass powders, frits and stringer
-fusing at different temperatures
-fusing in layers
You will complete a number of pieces using different fusing techniques and will be involved in actual kiln preparation and firings. Pieces made on the Saturday are fired that evening and are ready to take home . Pieces made on the Sunday will need to be picked up from the studio or sent out a few days after the course.

About your host, Jude Stark Studio at The London Stained Glass Co.
Jude is a dedicated and passionate stained glass artist. She has a wealth of experience in designing and making architectural stained glass. She has been practising professionally for 30 years, establishing her first independent stained glass studio in London in 1988. Since then she has created innumerable contemporary and period-influenced pieces in the distinctive, refreshing and vivid style that makes her stained glass truly special.
Jude is an experienced and inspiring tutor dedicated to bringing out the very best in every student.
Throughout every course and workshop you will have ongoing access to her extensive knowledge and experience through demonstrations, hands-on making, individual tuition and guidance. You will also get lots of useful insight into the materials, tools, processes and equipment used together with plenty of interesting bits of historical information.
Jude has taught and tutored students throughout her career, including teaching the advanced diploma City & Guilds Stained Glass Course. Several of her former students and trainees have gone on to establish their own stained glass studios.
Courses are held at Jude’s studio in Vanguard Court, Camberwell, a cobble-stoned inner-city oasis and home to a thriving community of dedicated, professional artists and creatives.
All materials included. Tools, equipment and firings included. All day free parking next to studio for course attendees. Plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits included for breaks. We will break for lunch each day. There is a microwave in the studio and a small garden at Vanguard Court if you wish to bring your own lunch. There are cafes nearby as well as a Local Sainsbury's and corner shop. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed, flat shoes. It is advisable to bring an apron to protect clothing.
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
