In the morning you will be developing your ideas, and then painting your chosen design onto fabric, and in the afternoon once the paint has dried, Kate will show you how turn this into a drum lampshade.
The finished lampshade will measure 20cm in diameter and is perfect for a table lamp or can be used on a pendant light fitting.
The workshop runs from 10am to 3.30pm, with approximately 1 hour for lunch – feel free to bring your own packed lunch to eat at the studio or head out and explore Camberwell!
Your tutor Kate Marsden, a.k.a. Made by Mrs M, is a textile designer, illustrator and blogger based in South London. Kate's work is inspired by the city around her as well as her travels, and her style leans towards that of the 1950s and 60s. Her designs feature on fabrics, home furnishings, stationery and accessories. She also produces art prints, works to commission, and loves teaching workshops and sharing her passion for fabric!
