What you will do
6 hour workshop
Come and join Elizabeth to find out how to make beautiful flowers. Be inspired by the exquisite flowers that adorn Elizabeth Bessant Couture outfits, wedding dresses and accessories and learn a new skill.
The workshop will be held in Elizabeth’s studio in West Wimbledon and start with tea and coffee and a chance to look at her gorgeous collections for inspiration. Then Elizabeth will demonstrate how to make camellia, lotus flowers, roses and lilies in various materials. She will also share beading techniques used to create the centres of flowers.
You will be taught to create flowers and make a fascinator for the races or a corsage for a wedding outfit.
No experience necessary as you will be taught the processes from start to finish. Elizabeth’s assistant Sam will be on hand to assist you. You will design and take away your own finished piece.

About your host, Elizabeth Bessant
Elizabeth Bessant is a teacher on the Obby website, teaching classes, courses and workshops at her Knightsbridge studio. She is an artist turned couture designer and crafts woman. Her distinct special occasion outfits are often embellished with her exquisite hand made silk flowers, deco-style beading and lace appliqué. She moved into couture 20 years ago following a successful art career as a print maker exhibiting at the Royal Academy and around the world. Her instinctive eye for colour and detail – plus her insistence on perfection – has led to a loyal following of celebrity and society clients. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, she says her beads and flowers are now her paints.
