During our Textured Wrap Ring Workshop students will learn a wide range of Silversmithing skills including annealing, hammering, stamping, filing, forming and finishing. 

They will spend the morning explore texturing techniques on copper and design ideas, and in the afternoon they move onto the making their silver ring. 

Our aim is that students will take their samples and finished ring home at the end of the workshop having fallen in love with some of the processes they have learnt, and feeling proud of their handmade rings.

They pride themselves in providing a relaxed and supportive environment in which students can explore their creative side, whilst also tapping into a brand new skills base. Students leave the workshop with their own piece of silver jewellery that has been designed, crafted and finished by hand. The girls love seeing students surprise themselves with how professional their outcomes are.

In this workshop you will have the option of making either a wide hammered band or two fine hammered stacking rings (as pictured). Over the course of the class you will have plenty of opportunity to practice your newfound skills, as demonstrated by the jewellers throughout.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for one-to-one interaction with the jewellers during your session.

We offer gold plating as an optional extra which can be requested and paid for at the end of the workshop. Choose from yellow gold, rose gold or black rhodium plating for your finished ring(s) - prices range from £20 - £40. Make a Silver Ring Workshop with The Ringsmiths in London Bridge

This class is designed to provide you with the essential groundwork needed for wax carving all whilst enjoying a cocktail and in a relaxed, creative environment.

Carving wax gives you endless options to freely design whatever ring you want, as you are not limited to a silver wire or strip. This technique allows you to create something 3D, abstract, classic, chunky, geometric or organic, so you can let your imagination run wild!
The workshop begins with a short introduction to the lost wax process and its uses. The Ringsmiths team will inform you about basic tips and tricks on how to design a comfortable ring. Showing you various techniques and tools that can be used.
You will then start by designing/sketching out your ring, (samples and images will be available for inspiration) before beginning to carve your wax.
Once you’re happy with your finished carving we will show you how to complete the ring and prepare it for casting. After the class your wax carved ring will be cast, finished and polished by The Ringsmiths using recycled silver. We will contact you once it’s ready for collection or we can post it out to you.

If you wish to have your ring gold plated or have your wax cast in solid gold then this will be at an additional cost and can be paid for and decided on the day.

Your finished silver ring will be ready for collection or posting within 3 weeks after the class.

In this class that honours the traditional Japanese art of fixing with gold, an experienced and friendly teacher from Art4Space will guide you every step of the way so that you leave with beautiful symbolic pottery to treasure.

As well as enjoying the hands-on experience with all the materials provided, you will also learn a little about the history and philosophy of Kintsugi. We create up to two classic Japanese bowls. Book with confidence! We have reduced the number of students within classes to a maximum of three to ensure a safe spacious environment.

This drop in session is suitable for beginner  and intermediate sewers. Please note these are women only classes.

If have never used a sewing machine before you will be taught how to use the machine and make bags, neck lines or small garments according to your own aims and interests.

You can also come and work on your own unique garment projects, with the guidance and help of a professional at your own pace.

Students have successfully created a variety of garments like jackets, shirts, skirts and even wedding dresses!

The studio has a domestic over locker , various machines and equipment but you are welcome to bring your own.

Sewing Class

In this three hour class you will learn the basics of TIG welding on mild steel.

Starting out with an explanation on how this form of welding works, settings and parts on the machine, how to position yourself and hold the torch.
You will then have a go at striking the arc on a piece of steel, running a bead without filler rod before moving on to learning how to move and dab filler rod in to the weld puddle.

Dan will then talk you through the various types of weld joints, show you how to tack two pieces together and then run a full weld across the joint.

At this point there will be a break before you come back and have a go at welding an outside corner joint. This is in preparation for the metal dice that you will weld together yourself and take home with you to finish off however you like.

Join lifestyle and streetwear label Stööki as they host their exclusive jewellery workshops at their studio in Greenwich.

Due to COVID-19, Stööki are now hosting smaller group and individual sessions to comply with government guidelines and for a more intimate making experience. This workshop will be focused on the creation and personalisation of rings and pendants and led by Stööki's jewellery technologist Nadia Abbas.

In this workshop you will:

Get an insight in to the jewellery making process
Receive a wax ring or pendant template to customise with your own design
Get a tutorial covering a range of jewellery making techniques

The aim is to have a finished wax master at the end of the workshop that can be taken home, but there is also the option of turning your personalised wax ring or pendant into a finished jewellery piece.

Prices to get jewellery made are as follows:

At the end of the session we will weigh your finished wax creation and charge you based on the extra weight of the chosen metal, plus an additional £5 casting fee.

*By the end of the session you will have completed a carving of your jewellery design as a wax master in blue or green wax only. You can then choose to get the wax casted into a metal jewellery piece which is a process that takes place after the session and hand finished by Stööki at our studio. All add-on options and prices are listed below and completely optional. Add-ons can be bought when you purchase your tickets online and also at the end of the session on the day.

Jewellery Making Workshop

You'll have a wide variety of ceramics to paint - mugs, bowls, plates, tiles and more that will make a lovely addiction to any home or a perfect personalised gift.

We'll guide you through a few different painting techniques (beginner friendly - don't worry!) and will provide a selection of patterns and designs (or you can bring your own) that you can re-do on a ceramic piece of your choosing. You'll also be shown a nifty  way to transfer images onto a ceramic piece, so it can be painted in. Or you can just freestyle with the  large selection of colours we have. 1,000s have come to this class and we continue to be amazed at what guests make - check out the photos. The class is BYOB and we'll provide tea / coffee if you prefer.

You'll leave having painted some fantastic ceramics for you or as a present. You'll also feel the proven mindfulness benefits of being creative - it is amazing!

Festive season 2024*
From November 17th to December 6th in this class, you'll also be able to paint your very own festive decorations during this class if you like, like ceramic baubles, angles and stars with acryllic paint (so no kiln firing required). Ideal for a Christmas tree. Don't worry though, we'll still stock the usual bowls, mugs, plates etc which you can pottery paint - which are ideal for gifting too!"

Paint Pottery and Bring Your Own Prosecco!

Hello and welcome.  My name is Claire and I own Couchman Bespoke an ethical tailoring company based in London, UK.

Learn to sew beyond a straight line, we will cover curves and seams too.  We will go through the machine from all angles if needed too.  Whether you are learning to sew for the first time or to top up on the knowledge you already have.  Bring a readiness to learn and maybe a notebook for all that you learn, I may take some photos for use on my social media if you allow and can forward them onto you after.

Do you have a sewing machine that you have barely touched or are super new to sewing, and would love to have someone show you the ropes?   I can now offer this class virtually, though you are welcome to bring your machine into the in-person class.   We will explore the sewing machine through the differing components, dials and how to thread it up.  If you have questions about the different feet supplied with your machine they can be answered.

This hour lesson will cover the sewing machine, sewing straight lines (what to look for when sewing), taking it to a curved edge and even a few different seam styles.  Choose from 1 to 1 or group class. You will enjoy a pleasant environment with a patient tutor near Canning Town station.  All equipment is provided for your learning experience.  You will be learning techniques that align with your abilities, and take home all that you complete for reference.  If you wish to learn a specific technique please ask before the class date so I can be prepared for you.

Jules will guide you step by step through the wire wrapping techniques and teach you how to use the tools and materials needed to make this beautiful Chakra necklace giving you a mini introduction to jewellery-making in this two-hour workshop.

These are the crystals and their meanings that you’ll be using to make your piece, you'll assemble them in their chakra sequence from crown to base -

Make a Chakra T-Bar Necklace Workshop Session 

Hello and welcome.  My name is Claire and I own Couchman Bespoke an ethical tailoring company based in London, UK

Learn to copy your favourite garment to get continued enjoyment out of a garment that fits like a dream.   In this class you will learn how to copy a garment on paper.  If we have time, you may get part way into cutting in cloth.  Cloth is unavailable through me, so please do bring your own.  Ability to complete this depends on the quickness in completing each stage and how detailed the garment is.  If you wish to sew up the garment i do recommend 3+ hours.
You can purchase such bundle hours through the Learn to make a garment bundle class, which are available for 3 hours plus.

This class is for all genders and ages.   Choose from 1 to 1 or group class.

Bring a readiness to learn and maybe a notebook.  You will enjoy a pleasant environment with a patient tutor near Canning Town station.  All equipment is provided for your learning experience.  You will be learning techniques that align with your abilities and take home all that you complete for reference.

Be aware that this session time is based on a fairly simple style.  For any garment with layers, corset style or a jacket, coat etc, double the time will be required to complete.  Book the 3 hour session.
You will copy the garment on paper.  For the opportunity to make it in cloth book the 6 hour session.  Again if the garment is more complicated with layers, corset style or a jacket, coat etc; please book for 12+ hours.
