Join Novella Bookbinding for this fun and informative traditional bookbinding workshop in Holborn, London and take away your very own notebook and diary.
Books today are taller than they are wide because originally the pages were parchment and in this way of cutting hide there was minimum of waste.
There will be a lot to take in during the two days! There will be a combination of theoretical and practical learning. Megan will be prepared to stop and answer any questions participants may have and will thoroughly demonstrate the techniques used in the session before students try them themselves.
Day One: Pages
Day Two: Cases
There will be a break of around thirty minutes for lunch. Students can bring their lunch with them, or there are plenty of options to purchase food nearby.
Participants will leave with a detailed instruction manual, information on where to purchase further materials and tools, one hardback blank notebook and a handmade 2017-2018 academic diary in their choice of covering materials.
This workshop is really popular and has limited capacity to make sure the learning is tip top - so book early to avoid disappointment!
Megan's studio is within Cockpit Arts which is a building shared by many creatives and we take each others' safety and security seriously. This means the main door to the building is always locked.
Upon arrival at Cockpit Arts please head up the stairs and ring the bell for Studio E4 and wait for Megan to collect you from the door (max 1 minute wait!).
