What happens in this class?

In this fun introductory class you will become familiar with the potters wheel and learn what it is like to have a go at throwing. You will be able to start learning the basics from weighing up your clay balls, to centering, pulling up the walls of your pots to using your tools. You will then have a go at a bowl form, having watched the teacher demonstrate the process to you.

Each attendee has their own dedicated potters wheel and there is a maximum of ten who will be able to attend each class.

Things to remember

Aprons are currently not provided due to covid. Please wear clothes you dont mind getting muddy! Closed shoes are also best rather than flip flops. All clay does wash off so dont worry too much.

Please also allow around 15 minutes, for clean up at the end of the session…

Wheel throwing is so hard! This workshop was great to practice the basics. The instructor didn't introduce herself and was very quick to run through demos. She certainly made it look easy, but it's much harder in practice and was hard to remember the steps.
