What happens in this class?

They will learn the art of raku , and gain new found love for glazing and firing the raku.

Your will have the option of picking one of our thrown piece of ceramic made before hand so you can glaze, its one piece per a person but if you love it so much you can even op to purchase another extra one as a gift to someone.

Things to remember

Just bring yourself and enjoy the fun!!!! Not so messy You will be given two throw pots made by Nam to glaze. If you would like to Raku additional pots it is £5 extra payment on the day .

Creative and fun activity. Process involves burning pots in an open fire which adds a lot of magic to the experience.

Nam Tran is an award-winning practitioner who gives lectures and demos at universities and exhibits internationally. A ceramic lecturer and head of the departments in design and multi media with Kensington and Chelsea college. Nam specialising in wheel thrown raku, bringing years of experience and craftsmanship to every object made. Tran's work focused primarily on exploring the physical properties of clay and material experimentation is a strong characteristics of his work. I bought this as a birthday present for my sister and it was perfect! The class was well paced and so much fun. Nam was an awesome teacher who explained the magic of raku super clearly, and our two little pots came out beautifully. Highly recommend !
