What happens in this class?

Express your creativity with clay in a fun and friendly environment.

During this 2 hour session we will focus on developing, and improving wheel throwing techniques. Hand building techniques such as coiling, pinching and slab building can also be explored.

Suitable for beginners and intermediates.

You will have the option to glaze artwork as an add-on class (please contact us for add-on Glazing Session) or pay £12 to have your pieces glazed and fired for you.

All pieces must be collected by students from the studio after firing.

Things to remember

No need to worry! Clay can be washed out of your clothes, but for your own peace of mind wear something which you don't mind getting messy in.

Aprons will also be available.

We had a private session booked for 3 of us for 2 hours and it was sooooo much more than I expected. We learnt and practiced every stage of pottery, we all made atleast 2 items each. We had a good laugh and so much fun. Would highly recommend!! The space and Ronaldo are just amazing. So grateful

My session with Ronaldo was super informative, having had some lessons on the wheel before he helped me build on my existing knowledge and showed me some alternative techniques. He's a lovely character, very patient and plays great music as well!

My arty 16 year old daughter has always wanted to learn how to throw a pot but never had the chance - until Ronaldo! She had a two hour private session to get her started, and after careful expert instruction and calm encouragement from Ronaldo she managed three beautiful bowls/pots, much to her delight! I can definitely recommend these sessions - we’ll be booking group ones next, once she’s learnt to glaze her creations with one more private session.

Ronaldo was very patience and informative. He was also very encouraging which boasted my confidence in making my own bowl and cup. I would definitely recommend potty sessions with Ronaldo. I've also rebooked for my nephew's to experience the joy i did for there bday present. I'm so looking forward to witnessing there reactions. Brilliant service.!

Really amazing class and would highly recommend this!! Was such a delight to have Ronaldo as a teacher! He explained the process of throwing from beginning to end, I got to practice kneading the clay, centering on the wheel and make a few pieces :) He was very patient and clear with all the hands-on steps and procedures needed, teaching the principles, theory and practice whilst making it fun at the same time. Just what you need as a way to get started. I loved it and will for sure be coming back for any follow up courses.

Ronaldo was great, he was really attentive and clearly knowledgable. Ronaldo was very patient with me when I wasn’t getting it and gave me the extra tips that I needed in order to progress and actually finish the lesson with a Piece ready for the kiln

I highly recommend a pottery class with Ronaldo because he is extremely knowledgable and patient as a teacher. He made me feel comfortable enough to make mistakes and we often laughed when things went wrong! :)

We had a great time throwing pottery with Ronaldo. He gave very clear demonstrations and guided us through each step from preparing the clay to the finished piece. He was very patient with us and ready to save our bowls when they went off-centre or got a bit thin! In total we made 2 items each. I would highly recommend Ronaldo as a teacher and I think this is great fun for anyone of any age to try out with a friend, it has definitely sparked my interest in pottery!

Ronaldo is very professional and skilled when it comes to connecting and teaching. He makes it very easy to grasp what is being said and detailed in his demonstrations. I felt like a pro when I left hos workshop, even though my work didnt display it. Would certainly reccomend his workshop.
