FAQs
Is there a minimum/maximum number for the class?
Yes - there is a class minimum of 4 and maximum of 20 (depending on the space size). For any larger corporate events, please get in touch.
Where does the class take place?
This is a travelling studio, meaning we come to you! We can serve homes, event spaces, offices - just get in touch with Head Potter Megan if you have any questions: meganprestonelliott@gmail.com
Won’t I need a pottery wheel, like in the film ‘Ghost’?
No - Clay Wild utilises hand-building techniques with minimal equipment required, meaning that the clay workshops are easily accessible to all! (Sorry if this has shattered your ‘Ghost’ dreams)
Do I need to wear a mask during the class?
Currently, you do not need to wear a mask but you are more than welcome to do so if you feel more comfortable. If you would like Head Potter Megan to wear a mask, just let us know and she is happy to wear one. If any government guidelines change, we'll adapt accordingly.
What Covid-19 safety precautions do you have in place?
For the safety of the group during the Covid-19 pandemic, we ask that the space for the event is adequately ventilated (has a window that can be opened) and that members of the group refrain from attending if they present with Covid-19 symptoms. Should the event need to be rescheduled due to attendees contracting Covid-19, please contact us and we can rearrange. Each member of the group will be provided with their own toolkit and portioned clay to avoid needing to share.
How long does the clay take to dry?
Approximately 2-3 days. You'll notice when you work with the clay that it's quite moist to the touch and darker grey in colour. When it dries it will be a lighter grey and feel a bit dusty to the touch. We do recommend leaving your clay creations at the host's house/venue to dry before collecting.
