Join us this winter for our series of limited edition Festive Workshops at Decima Clay Studio.

In this 2 hour workshop we will teach you all about working with slip-casting & porcelain clay, coloured stains and plaster moulds culminating in making your own Porcelain Festive Bauble & Cup.

You will first use the pre-mixed coloured stains to marble, drip, splatter or paint onto you mould. Then cast your unique bauble using liquid clay porcelain. While your mould sets you can use the downtime to cast a matching (or brand new design) cup.

You can collect your fired works TWO WEEKS after the class took place.

How many people will there be in each class?

There will be up to 8 students per session. We pride ourselves in our more relaxed intimate environment allowing more one on one time with the teacher.

What Should I Wear?

While the majority of clay can easily be washed out of your clothing, working with terracotta and deeper colours can leave stains. Please come dressed in clothing you do not mind getting dirty and can easily be put through the washing machine. We will provide each maker with an apron for their use during the session.

What Should I bring?

Each class will be fully stocked with all the materials and tools needed. All clay, glazes and firings are included within the cost of the course.

Will there be food provided?

We will provide a range of teas and coffees and some festive biscuits. If you would like some a more substantial meal we are conveniently located near Mercato Metropolitano and Borough Market where you can find a range of local restaurants and delis before or after your class.

Do you have disability access?

Our studio is wheelchair accessible. If you have any special needs or requirements please let us know in advance and we will try and accommodate you as best as possible.

I had such a lovely afternoon at this festive workshop. Everything was explained so well, and it was fun working with new materials and getting creative! It was also a very calm and relaxed atmosphere, which was great. I hope I can come to more workshops in the future!

This is my third workshop with Decima Clay and the second time with the slipcasting and marbling technique, and always an awesome experience. This time I made Christmas baubles. Victoria, the instructor was great, friendly and very helpful. The course is very easy to follow. The studio is cozy and lovely, when you are there time flies. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to collect the baubles! .
