My china painting classes with Marisa are on of the main highlights of my week. She is a patient and talented teacher who has a vast knowledge of skills and styles of china painting. She leads you gently through beginner projects and then quickly lets you fly with ideas of your own that you want to attempt. The time whizzes by all too quickly, and there’s even refreshing tea or coffee and biscuits at half time!

Because of her friendly and supportive personality, I have always enjoyed her class ever since I joined 7 years ago. She always tries to provide us with up-to-date information about what's going on in class in a very timely manner. The class takes place in a peaceful, quiet setting, so I can enjoy the atmosphere and concentrate on painting. Thanks to Marisa's help, my passion in painting has grown enormously.

I have been attending porcelain painting classes in Marisa’s studio since September 2018 and before then I had no previous relevant experience at all. Marisa is very patient in teaching newcomers from scratch, from mixing paints, using brushes and dividing sections on plates for different designs etc.. She also always gives me useful advice on how to paint different designs step by step. She is very responsive to government guidelines on health and safety and had installed plastic screens between students and enforced the face masks wearing requirement when the pandemic situation was bad. The studio is always clean, tidy and bright and provides a comfortable environment for painting. There are different levels of students in a class and this makes the classes more interesting and is good for inspirations. I enjoy every minute in the class - it’s a good place to learnt new skills, relax, and make friends!

I have been learning with Marisa since 2016. She is a great teacher, everyone gets the right help and advice to make progress, whatever their level or particular interest. Her studio is bright and comfortable, and full of inspiring examples of decorated work. Her classes are happy and friendly, and students enjoy sharing their work and ideas with one another.

I have studied with Marissa for three years now and have loved every lesson. She is a great teacher - kind, friendly and generous with her time; a fabulous China painter herself, she encourages us all to aim for her standards; the groups of students are mixed in experience and of many different nationalities and ages - I couldn’t recommend any teacher or class more highly.

I joined Marisa's class without any prior experience and I'm constantly amazed by how much I've learned so quickly. Marisa is a wonderful teacher and an inspirational painter. She works closely with beginners to help them acquire a range of skills, and then as their confidence and capabilities develop, she helps them to make the transition to working with greater autonomy. Whatever project her students want to try, Marisa is always willing to help them plan and implement it. Best of all, the atmosphere in her classes is happy, friendly and enthusiastic. It's a real pleasure to be part of it.

Loved Marisa's class. She is an excellent teacher. The lessons are held in a studio in her garden .Starting as a beginner I was a little anxious but she is very patient and I learnt a lot.Even though the journey is long for me,an hour's drive each way , it is worth every bit of it.I would recommend her class to anyone interested in Porcelain painting.
