What happens in this class?

Local Artist William Newton will take you through step by step and at the end of each session, you will create a picture. You will learn about application, washes lines the most important colours. Bill has a vast knowledge of landscape and seascapes. You don't have to bring along your own materials as this class use materials from Winsor and Newton.

Loved it! William is such a lovely person with an incredible talent and adding to that he is a very good teacher. After the lesson we felt that there was so much more we wanted to learn from him, so we decided to book another lesson! Definitely recommend it!! **Also an interesting fact is that he has a great book about mastering the art of watercolour!

I loved the last ten minutes -after the formal class was over, when the teacher showed us some techniques to try at home. The first two hours were all demonstrations, then we were expected to copy what he’d done. He talked about the names of the techniques he was using, (dry brushing etc), but didn’t explain what they were or how to do them. Certainly not aimed at a beginner who wanted to learn about tools and techniques, but a good class if you’re an improver and want to work on existing experience.

William is an amazing artist who really knows how to use watercolours. I did feel like the pace of the class did move a little too fast for a beginners class and more time could have been spent with us on helping us finesse the techniques.
