Life drawing at the Vine is a stimulating creative session and it takes your mind away to a higher place. The tutor guides everyone along with some short warm up exercises - useful to loosen up and try out new drawing styles. There is a friendly atmosphere and a nice group of people to draw with. At the end of the session we have a look at all the drawings and listen to the comments from the tutor and others. It's great to see the variety of styles and it always gives new ideas.

Misleading description, poorly equipped and overcrowded. This session defined itself as a 'class' but the instructor, for the 20min I could stand of the session, acted as a countdown timer for short sketch exercises. There was no instruction or feedback (again, I left early due to it being so uncomfortable so maybe this followed?) but not suitable for novices like me. The tutor was quite unwelcoming and the atmosphere intimidating. I arrived at 19:01 and the tutor wasn’t in the room. When she returned at 19:05 i was referred to as a 'latecomer' which immediately made me feel like I was interrupting the other students. I expect that the majority of other 'students' were regulars and certainly more accomplished in terms of skill. On a positive note; the model was very professional and autonomous and the pub was lovely! FYI 'Drink' and draw 'isn’t correct .. at least I wasn’t offered a drink!
