I loved this course - working with felt is amazing, the colours are beautiful and the end results were much better than I expected. I am not particularly artistic but I produced something I really liked. Heather was very clear and patient and the atmosphere was relaxed and very calming. The location was also great. I now know exactly what to do if I wanted to do felting on my own.
really had a wonderful time with Rachel as a generous and encouraging teacher - thank you very much!
A most enjoyable afternoon and I'm delighted with my 2D felted seascape. A huge selection of coloured wools were provided and we were also shown how to mix different colours to make even more. Heather was a fabulous teacher, the whole experience was very therapeutic! The class took place in Heather's lovely home.
Thank you Heather for your very knowledgable workshop. Due to the small size, Heather was able to give us lots of attention. It was almost as if we had private tuition but at a much lower cost. Her materials were all exceptional quality, she was very welcoming and friendly. Really good value for money. Thank you Heather
I booked a class with my friend as a gift, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Heather sent an email well before the class with additional info and instructions on finding the venue and was very welcoming on arrival offering tea and biscuits. The instructions for the class were clear and the materials were good quality. The atmosphere was relaxed and we both came away with something we made that we really liked. Ideal!
What a fantastic team activity - we are all thrilled with our Tomtes! Heather was brilliant; very welcoming, relaxed and informative. She is clearly a brilliant artist and is at complete ease sharing her skills and knowledge. Great response from initial enquiry, booking and managing the session and really lovely atmosphere on the day. Thank you Heather!
Our little tomte friends have settled in to their new homes and had their first virtual team meet on zoom this week!
With huge thanks,
The Affinity Team x 10!
Really enjoyed the class. Heather was an excellent teacher & host. The home bakes were a delightful added bonus. Would certainly recommend.
Wonderfully interesting and pleasant workshop. I really enjoyed it, and appreciated Heather's way to teach it as she is really professionnal, kind and patient. Her explanations are also very clear and her studio is truly lovely. Thank you, I loved it so much
I really enjoyed this course and the instructions were easy to follow, the raw wool we used and all natural products were lovely to handle. The process of felting and the atmosphere of the class was calming and paced well plus I ended up with a Christmas decoration I could buy in Skandium.
This was my first time felting and wet felting and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The time flew by and I’m very happy with my little Tomte. Heather was very helpful and encouraging, I’m looking forward to doing another workshop in the future :)
Absolutely loved this workshop making a Christmas Tomte! The materials we used were such high quality, leaving us with beautiful decorations which I can’t wait to put out at Christmas time. It was fun to see the different style/character of everyone’s Tomtes emerge. Thanks for a lovely afternoon and all of the creative support Heather (and for the delicious cake!).
Making a felt gnome needs some concentration but the result is very satisfying and the colours and materials are lovely. We were carefully and expertly instructed.

A great Sunday afternoon spent creating a hand-felted and crafted Nordic Tomte with Heather of Purr and Wag It. Relaxed, fun and a sense of achievement. Thank you Heather
Very enjoyable class. Heather explained everything really well and we came out with a bit of art. Very relaxing and the flapjack and tea were delicious!

I would highly recommend this workshop. Heather is welcoming, fun, knowledgeable and patient. Working in a small group with one other person Heather demonstrated step by step how to make a small wet felt planter. There was a wide variety of materials available in every colour imaginable. Such a lovely afternoon in Heather’s beautiful home.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon learning how to make a felt planter. Heather is a very good teacher, explaining clearly every step of the process. Everything was well set up for us, we had an amazing choice of coloured wool. I liked that there was only 3 of us, so it felt relaxed and intimate, in great surroundings.
Heather’s workshop was so much fun! It was all new to me and she was going through the wet felting process step by step alongside with us working on our vessels.
This is truly and amazing craft and Heather made it both fun and exciting :)
There was also tea and delicious homemade cakes provided. I recommend this workshop to anyone who’s interested and want to try something new :D
Fantastic felting with Heather - she was incredibly friendly, knowledgable and patient. Her house is so lovely and the materials provided were excellent. Thoroughly recommend!
I really enjoyed my day at Purr & Wag It. Heather was very patient and explained everything clearly as I was a complete beginner, had never done wet felting before. I did a 2D and then a 3D workshop. Choosing from the range of colours was so much fun, you can really indulge your creativity! I definitely recommend it as a fun session, for an individual or a group of friends.
I went with a friend to the felt 2D workshop and we both had a brilliant time. Loads of help, advice and information. We were shown then encouraged . I loved every minute of my time. I learnt something new and produced a picture . I will be returning in the future . I recommend this whole heartedly.
We loved this class. A really fun activity, well organised and taught by a lovely teacher who had even baked goodies for us.
Even with no prior experience we produced felting that we were really pleased with.
It was a very relaxed, enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning. I’d definitely recommend and would book to do it again.
I really enjoyed this class. It was my first time wet felting and Heather struck a great balance between explaining the process and guiding us through while allowing us to learn by doing. I feel like I have a good basis for continuing with my own projects. Heather was also really welcoming and fun to chat to. She even threw in a bit of felting history. A really fun and pleasant learning experience.
Excellent workshop: friendly, helpful and welcoming teacher, delicious cake, a great range of materials and a lovely space. Thank you very much!
Spent a really lovely morning with my friend learning how to do 2-D felting. It was a great experience, Heather gave us really detailed instructions and helped us to create our pieces which came out really beautifully. She was very friendly and provided us with some very tasty refreshments as well. It was a really positive experience and really fun to learn a new skill and take away our felt piece at the end.
A very relaxing and rewarding few hours. Heather is a great host and fantastic explainer of the process from beginning to end. We enjoyed the experience and would recommend to others as a creative introduction to wet felting.
As a complete beginner I was so pleased to take home a lovely decorative piece o f felt work. Heather is a great teacher who listened to what we wanted to make and then helped us achieve it. My friend and I had a lovely creative afternoon and also enjoyed a delicious home made cake.
We did Heather's abstract pre felt course. I wasn't really sure what to expect and wasn't disappointed. We both came away with a lovely decorative piece of felted wool to frame. Heather explained the process to us and gave us lots of ideas as to what would work. She had a lovely range of merino wool colours all of wonderful quality. A lovely way to spend the afternoon and a delicious cake and cups of tea thrown in!
Fantastic class with the desired results achieved. Beautiful colours provided, thorough explanations and a great atmosphere. Everything tip top and I made my first wet felt over a resist and my second successful ever wet felt so bravo. Delicious cake as well!
Heather was a great teacher and even made cake for the class! Wet Felt Making was lots of fun. None of us (6) had ever done it before and we were shocked what we could produce and take home after 3hours. Would definitely recommend!
This class was excellent and surpassed all of my expectations. Neither myself or my mum had ever done any felting before and we aren’t particularly artistically inclined. Heather was an excellent teacher and even made cake for us! She talked us through the process of creating the felt as we went, and provided us with everything we needed and every colour of felt under the sun. We were both able to produce a piece of felt that we were happy with thanks to heathers tuition. and now have the building blocks to be able to create more. We may book on to the course again, and we would recommend the course to anyone!
We so enjoyed the workshop on Saturday and were both thrilled with the results. It was a birthday present for my mother so I was really pleased to see how much she enjoyed it. I love my little pot - perfect for my AirPods!
All great. A wonderful way to spend a day. There was a generous supply of materials used for the class. A small intimate class with one on one attention. Perfect. I will definitely return for a more advanced tutorial. After viewing tutorials on line with no success this is the way to go. Thank you to Purr and Wag for a great day and delicious chocolate torte to end. Fritz.
I took the class with Heather last Saturday and found it to be very enjoyable and useful. She is an excellent teacher, keeping very much to the subject and patiently helping us with the details. Our equipment was laid out in a way that made it easy to use. Alongside this Heather had made delicious cakes, and provided music that gave the session a relaxing ambience. Directions to the workshop were clear so it was easy for me to find. I would recommend a workshop with Heather, and am inspired to continue with wet felting.
Had an excellent and enjoyable afternoon with Heather teaching us about 3D felting. Heather explained everything clearly and in detail. She helped us understand the reasons behind our actions and the properties of wool and how they can affect the end results. We all came away with beautiful felted vessels which will be proudly displayed. I will definitely continue to experiment on my own and mix wet felting techniques with needle felting and embroidery. Highly recommend this course.
Absolutely loved Heather’s tabletop 3D wet felting workshop. The whole experience from start and finish was serene and inspirational. Heather is a very knowledgable teacher with a really calm and clear approach. In addition to teaching us how to felt, she also baked a delicious almond chocolate cake - and flapjacks too - and allowed the workshop to run over time so we could all get to the finish line with our pieces. Thank you Heather! :)
What a lovely way to spend a Saturday. Heather is so knowledgeable and easily adapted to teaching a complete novice (me) and someone who had felted several times before. I created two pieces (a 2D picture and a small pot) that I still can't quite believe I made myself.
The venue was very clean and suitable for the activity being taught. Covid restrictions were careful considered. Plentiful cups of tea were supplied and the homemade cake was delicious!!
This was a really informative and enjoyable workshop. I had done other felting workshops before but I’m confident this would be also be suitable for complete beginner. I was guided through a range of techniques and was able to complete a picture working alongside Heather in the second half of the video. I’d suggest not starting with a design but pausing in the middle to assemble it once you’ve seen the various ways this can be achieved. I came away with the understanding of how to make further pieces on my own and feel inspired to keep going! Highly recommended.
A very good introduction to 2D wet felting with a finished personal felt creation to take away at the end of the afternoon. The venue was handy for Denmark Hill train station and Heather provided a cuppa and delicious cake. The small group size of 4 allowed for individual help when required and Heather kept an eye on the time and gently moved us through the different stages so we all completed our pieces. No matter what subject, there was a rainbow of coloured wool to choose from or to blend to produce the right shade. We learned extra on how effects could be achieved from observation of other students‘ pieces. Heather answered all my questions promptly before and after the workshop. For those few hours of the workshop I was totally absorbed in the process and the whole experience was a pleasure. thank you
This is my second workshop with Heather at Purr & Wag It, I came back as I enjoyed the first workshop so much. I created a picture again but used a slightly different technique and really enjoyed the experience. Heather was helpful and informative, and creates a lovely relaxed atmosphere to work in. She also makes wonderful tea and cake! Thanks Heather!

So impressed with this introduction into 3D wet felting. Didn’t think I would come away with a pot on the same day so was super impressed. Lovey tutor, very calm and patient with us. Explained everything really well. Simply love my pot and now love wet felting. Would highly recommend this class. Oh and the cakes and tea were fantastic. Super relaxing afternoon.
Having spent a very pleasant afternoon with three other women, learning to wet-felt with Heather. What a lovely, lovely way to spend the day - learning, nattering, practising, nattering, eating, practising, nattering... so therapeutic... just how women have bonded for centuries. Heather is so welcoming, fun, caring and knowledgeable - what a pleasure to be in the company of someone who clearly loves what they do, as much as teaching it to others. I've always wanted to take up this art form, but it's not until you get up close and personal with it, that you appreciate exactly how much time, effort and skill goes into each and every piece. Thank you Heather for everything that you taught me. My friends and family are well impressed with my finished product. Would highly recommend your courses to everyone. Inspirational.
A really fantastic workshop! Incredibly insightful and taught in a way that made it relaxing and enjoyable. I took so much away from the experience, not only my lovely felted pieces but also the skills and knowledge to continue making at home. There was an abundance of beautifully coloured felts to work with and no short supply of tea and biscuits either.
I couldn't have enjoyed myself more and left feeling very inspired.
A really interesting and enjoyable course over two evenings. Heather made everything very clear and easy, provided great materials and ensured we all made something we were pleased with. I had never felted anything before but would now like to do more and feel quite confident about starting on my own. I'd also like to do another course with Heather. Highly recommended
