Beginner's Rag Rugging: Tote Bag

In this rag rugging workshop by Tea & Crafting you will learn how to recycle your fabrics into new art

    Upcycling class

    2.5 hour class

    Beginners welcome

    Tea & Crafting - Covent Garden, WC2E

    What you'll learn

Stop throwing your old t-shirts away and learn how to turn recycled fabrics into art! This class is suited to anyone and everyone, no prior experience in rag rugging (or anything to be honest!) required.

    In this class

You will learn both the rag rugging techniques (loopy and shaggy) to turn your rags into a beautiful personalised tote bag, perfect for doing your shopping! What's not to love?

On top if it all, there is no need to bring anything yourself. We will provide you with:

    • The tote bag (see our watermelon design below)
    • Plenty of fabric (although do feel free to bring along any of your old threads)
    • A wooden latch hook (worth, £3.99 so you're already making savings here!)
    • Tasty treats and refreshments (we are Tea & Crafting after all!)

    Notes

Although we can provide materials for the rag rugging, feel free to bring whatever you want from home. Part of the charm is upcycling those old favourites!

We will be in touch shortly before the class to confirm directions to the venue and any special requirements you may have.

    There are no dates scheduled.

    Let's change that!

Let the host know and you will be notified when new dates are added.

About your host, Tea & Crafting

Founded by Jane Gois in 2010 Tea & Crafting has grown steadily over the years and is now London's top craft venue. We're really proud of our central premises in Covent Garden and Camden and we are certainly doing everything we pass on the crafting bug to you crafty Londoners!

We are a group of friendly artist experts who are partial to a bit of old-fashioned craftsmanship with a modern twist. If your undiscovered creative side is simply yarn-ing to get then join one of our crafty workshops and spend a few hours learning something new. Expect to learn new skills, show off creations and have a lot of fun!

All our workshops are project based meaning you leave with a completed item at the end. There is ALWAYS cake, tea and coffee to keep you fuelled whilst you craft.
