5 hour workshop
Working with lightweight and slippery fabric can be tricky, so why not learn from the best? Renowned creator Rachel Pinheiro is known for her posts and guest spots focusing on new and innovative patterns, projects and sewing techniques.
The class is suitable for those with some machine sewing and patterning experience, and patterns will be sent to you before the class, so that you can prepare, trace and size the pattern in preparation.
In this class
In this class, she will walk you through the steps needed to create a beautiful kimono whilst getting to grips with difficult fabric types. All tools are provided during the class, but you will need to bring your own fabric and thread, or buy it in the on-site shop before getting started (you can see the size chart in the pictures)!
Once you have your fabric and thread, this class will walk you through the foundations of working slippery fabric, as well as using the pattern you have traced and measured at home to create a kimono. You will then attach the pieces and finish the kimono with professional-style stitches, seams and hemming.
Now you can
- work with difficult fabric types
- understand how garments fit together
- finish a garment with professional seams, hems and lines
Once the class is finished, you will have a completed kimono and a new set of skills to take home with you.
