What happens in this class?

Learn everything you need to help you on your sewing journey!

Start with how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, balance tension and choose which stitch to use for your individual projects. Use different stitches and seams to get comfortable on your sewing machine and learn the art of controlling your speed on the machine.

You will explore different sewing feet and which projects to use them on. Finally you will choose fabric cut out and make a cushion or a tote bag for you to use.

I did the six week beginners course. I cant quite believe how much I've learnt. Going from never using a sewing machine to making a jacket from scratch. Aliza and Anne were brilliant. They've been really informative and their wealth of experience is amazing. I would highly recommend them. Thank you both for your patience! I'll definitely be back for some other courses.

Seams So Easy was founded in 2009 as an after school club to help students get started on their sewing journey. Founded by Aliza Patell Ratnayaka, Seams So Easy has since then grown as a creative hub for textiles and sewing clubs and classes for kids, teens and adults in the Beckenham and West Wickham areas.
