What happens in this class?

Come and learn the wonderful art of Origami! We will learn how to make beautiful paper sculptures, and how paper folding can facilitate a marvellous space of meditation and reflection.

In this class, we will be learning about folding origami tessellations. In essence, a tesselation is the repetition of one or more geometric shapes to create a pattern.

Your Teacher

Maia is a an artist and a maker with a passion for paper and origami. She graduated cum laude with a Batchelor of Arts in Fine Art. She has been using paper to create sculptures as a main part of her artistic practice for many years, including intricate origami forms, and paper installations in unique locations such as the Tankwa Karoo, South Africa. She is passionate about working with people and loves sharing her knowledge with others who are equally as enthralled by learning and making.
