One Day Workshop - Taught by Richard Mutimer

A one day introductory class or intermediate class. For those who are absolute beginners - you will learn the very basics of throwing on the potters wheel.

What happens in this class?

Expect to keep anywhere between 1-5 pieces, depending on what happens when you are throwing! Each piece will be turned for you after your class as your pots bases will not be dry enough on the day. If you would like to learn to turn the bases of your pots, that means smoothing of your bases and or creating foot rings for bowls etc, we recommend you take the two day course, or a 5 session course. After we have bisque fired your work (1000c), we then fire them again in a glaze firing with a tin white glaze…

Things to remember

There will be a maximum of 10 people attending this class. Each person has their own dedicated potters wheel and you will be required to wear a mask for the duration of entering the studio. We will also ask you wash your hands with dettol soap in our outdoor sinks…
