This world can be a harsh, cold and often pretty grey place. Sounds lame! Let’s embellish everything, pom pom the heck out of our belongings, bead them up, embroider your girlfriend’s name on all your stuff or just, like, colour everything in!
We’re getting ready for summer already people and summer means cracking our bum bags, hot pants and tennis shoes. If you’re anything like us, you won’t be able to exchange those scruffy old festival bits for new stuff. So chuck em in the wash and then bring them here and breathe some new life into those tired old things of yours.
We have beads, bells, embroidery thread, felt, glitter and all the pom pom and tassel know how you’ll ever need. We’re excited to get down and colourful with you people. This class even involved a shot of something great to get you in the mood. Bring a pair of shoes, or a bum bag or cap that need a little love.
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
About your host, The London Loom
The London Loom is a weaving studio in Hackney in East London, created by Francesca Kletz in 2016. The London Loom was founded to build a community of people who love making things with their hands and appreciate how good it is for you.
At The London Loom we want to encourage people to indulge in creating for pure satisfaction and fun. We hold community workshops and smaller classes in our studio where we welcome adults and children to work alongside each other; we believe that creativity and inspiration can come from anywhere, it’s not limited to age or background.
Francesca has been teaching weaving and other textile crafts since 2015 and has taught weaving workshops for Tate Modern, Southbank Centre, Scouts, Hackney Arc and the Royal Society of Sculptors and has appeared in (amongst others) Mollie Makes, Stylist, PomPom Quarterly, Time Out (on the front cover!) The Telegraph and is the author of Weave This (Hardie Grant 2018). The London Loom was also named Mollie Makes Best Craft Workshops of 2019.
Ultimately we want to share the good that we feel from learning new skills and making beautiful, tactile things. We teach and host a range of ‘alternative craft’ classes as well as our beginners weaving workshops, as long as there’s something to make, new people to meet and obnoxiously loud laughter to be had, we’re happy.
You need to bring your own accessories to embellish. Something made of fabric that you feel comfortable stitching on or gluing onto.
