Come and learn how to crochet Amigurumi with us! Amigurumi is the Japaneses art of creating small, stuffed yarn creatures either by knitting or crocheting. In two sessions Lindy Zubairy will guide us through how to make the wonderful ‘Bridget the Elephant’ by TOFT UK design. You will learn how to work in a spiral with a thread maker, how to increase and decrease to get the flowing 3 dimensional shapes, and with the help of some stuffing and clever stitching the pieces will come together to make the elephant complete. Some basic crochet skills are helpful during this workshop so if you have never crochet before try out our ‘Beginners Crochet‘ first. All materials are included.
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
About your host, Stag and Bow
Stag and Bow was set up in 2010 by founders Pascale and Cyrus, as a celebration of sharing skills, stories, knowledge, and all things handmade. As well as running a stunning shop in Forrest Hill, Stag and Bow also provide informative, fun and inspiring craft and textile workshops.
Cyrus is a specialist woodworker and designer with great experience in a variety of design disciplines, with strong focus on the "poetic" side of materials and how people can relate to them. Similarly, Pascale is in her element when she is making, fully immersing herself in the textile world.
Through these workshops, Pascale and Cyrus are able to pass on their collected wealth of experience of the textile trade. Their meticulous choice of materials and infectious attention to detail is passed on to the students as they seek to further their own craft!
