What happens in this class?

In this intimate, 2 hour workshop, you will be learning about smell and what scents you are drawn to, and by the end of the workshop will come away with a beautifully presented toxin free candle and perfume.

In the workshop you will:

  • Learn about essential oils and how to use them at home

  • Build you own complex perfume using top, middle and base notes.

  • You will create your first perfume for your candle. Once you have created your scent, and had one-on-one support from your teacher to help you get to your perfect blend, you will then…

Things to remember

You do not need to bring anything to the workshop, everything, including aprons are provided.

Have a think about your favourite scents, and if you have a favourite candle or perfume, look up what scents they use to give you inspiration for your own scents.

I took this class with my two nieces, aged 20 and 30, and we had a really great time. It was a very informal setting with Alice being an excellent communicator. We have come away with a real wealth of knowledge, a beautiful handmade candle and our own personalised perfume. I would highly recommend this evening class and, with Alice's advice ringing in my ears, I may even start making some candles at home!

I learnt so much doing this class with Alice. You can see she is very passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to Apothecary. I enjoyed smelling the various essential oils and building certain ones up to make the 2 different scents required for the candle and perfume. I really liked the perfume I created and couldn't stop sniffing it on my way home!

Such an informative and well run class - we learnt all about the useful properties of essential oils and how to use them to make candles and other products. Alice is a wonderful teacher and we all really enjoyed the experience - a great fun thing to do with friends or life’s ones! Can’t wait for the next one!
