Four session course
Printmaking Open Access Studio sessions are open to experienced printmakers. You will need to work with excellent studio practice and with due attention to H & S. Beginners who have completed a short course at SLAUGHTERHAUS can attend the session to print in that technique only (excludes attendance on weekend introductory or short taster courses). Please contact the studio first if you are unsure.
The Printmaking Open Access Studio are supervised by studio technician Matt Young. He will offer support and advice, but these sessions are not taught sessions.
Please bring plates, ink and paper.
If the technician is worried about your studio practice or thinks that you have inadequate experience to work independently you may be asked to leave.
Slaughterhaus Print Studio is a professional, friendly printing studio (despite the name!). They love all things print, and will surprise you with what is possible in this fantastic medium. Led by studio founder Michelle Avison, a great team of practising artist tutors share their skills in techniques such as linocut, etching and stone lithography, and a lot more besides- classes are suitable for beginners and more experienced printmakers looking to refresh and add to their skills. Class numbers are small, and the teaching is supportive and personalised - the team will challenge and help you experiment and find your creative mojo…
