Taste feeling of Clay and have a Relax day out!
You will learn Pinching and coiling technique.
Make a cup for your coffee or Japanese tea? Bowl for your break fast, for your favourite dish.
This Course includes:
・Introduction to the material and the process
・Hand building: pinching, coiling
・Surface decoration techniques
We have a small Group sessions. Each of you will have more attention.
After the workshop, your pieces are fired and glazed in beautiful glaze.
More hand building and glazing courses are available after the taster class.
Please be aware that Pieces are might be damaged during the firing process.
PLEASE NOTE This class needs to have minimum 4 Students to run. if it didn't meet the number of people. I will cancel the class and let you know one day before.
If you are unable to attend a session during the course, you will be unable to make this up at another time.

About your host, Yasuko Arakawa Ceramic Studio
Yasuko Arakawa is a London based ceramicist, born in Kyoto, Japan, who’s work draws from her aesthetic background to create ceramics that bring to mind a heritage of craft whilst inspiring a progression of contemporary product usage.
Yasuko’s craft develops the affordance of natural materials into a form that allows the person engaging with the product a feeling connection, through her utilization of carefully mixed glazes and variant grades of clay, enhancing the experience of ceramics beyond function.
Her work also aims to explore the possibilities of narrative, through both function and form, to suggest playfulness and initiate imagination with everyday use.
Bring your Apron. Tools are available at the studio. Please pay Firing fee £1 per 100g on the day by cash.
