What happens in this class?

In this workshop, you will explore a range of techniques to create your own unique plate. You will begin by press moulding your own plate which you will then work with layers of coloured underglazes and slips.

You'll create your own unique design which you'll reveal in the final stages by peeling back your stencils. We'll have some newspaper on site but please come with pre prepared cut out shapes if there is something in particular that you like. Please make sure that these are not too intricate as these may not work as well.

I bought this workshop as a birthday present for my husband. He loved everything about it. Waiting anxiously now to find out if the plate has survived the firing!

A very enjoyable afternoon
Karen Markham - 20 June 2021
A lovely relaxing class, expertly lead by Eloise. Bonus - a beautiful plate to follow, hopefully - but that "waiting to see" is also part of the fun of clay!
