What happens in this class?

This is a short, intensive course, with bespoke tuition aimed at your personal level. From the moment you come in, you are at the wheel. The teachers have designed a specialised series of fun exercises to improve your throwing fast!

Beginners to clay work will start off learning how to throw cylindrical shapes, practicing centering, opening and pulling, and will eventually move on to throw more complex shapes. Learners with more experience will be given agency to explore their creativity. I really enjoy Tuesday intense throwing since it’s my chance during the busy week where I can be creative and crafty. I am always learning something new. The teacher Emilia has been fantastic! She taught me great wheel throwing techniques that helped me hone my throwing skills. The venue is cool with lots of tools. The atmosphere is friendly - we all encourage each other :)

I have had an amazing experience at Kite Studios in the intensive throwing course with Emilia! From a complete novice, I feel I've got the basics on which to build - am looking forward to taking home my own pieces. If you're at all interested in pottery give this class a go - you can't go wrong!
