What you will do
At SkandiHus we offer an alternative way to connect and relax using the healing powers of clay.
Whether you are planning a corporate event, a team building activity or just want to have fun with friends, we would love to welcome you into our beautiful studio for a session of making away from the distractions of the outside world.
Our group workshops are a 2.5 hour class, during which you will learn how to do some handbuilding techniques, such as pinching, coiling, and maybe some slab building. We can cater the event to your needs, and your teacher can either provide some specific aims for the class (e.g. to make a hanging planter, mug, or build pots together as a team), or you can be free to experiment and make whatever you want.
Each person tends to make between 1-4 pieces. At the end of the class, we ask each guest to choose their favourite piece to be finished and fired. We will then fire the pieces for you, glaze them, and then fire them again. They will be ready to collect within eight-ten weeks of the event.
This is a private class for minimum 10 people and maximum 16 people. No prior experience is necessary.
We are happy for you to bring along drinks and snacks.
Did you know?
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
This is a Flexitime class, which means the teacher can run this class around your schedule.

About your host, SkandiHus
SkandiHus was founded by the Danish ceramicist, Stine Dulong, who works and lives in London. When Stine is not busy making her own designs, she teaches classes from her studio in De Beauvoir in Hackney.
The SkandiHus brand is inspired by a love for Scandinavian design in which beauty is radiated through light colours, the ample use of natural materials, minimalism and functionality. Like many Scandinavian designers before her, Stine believes that quality design should be affordable, stylish and relevant to the modern human being by providing minimal distraction and maximum functionality and beauty.
Stine both throws and hand-builds her pieces. It is very important to her to minimise her impact on the world in which she lives, so she reuses materials whenever possible and many of her pieces are made from reclaimed waste clay from her students and fellow studio members.
All tools and materials are provided. Please bring clothes that can get dirty, positive energy and ideas!
