What happens in this class?

This course covers all skills from handbuilding and wheelthrowing, to surface decoration and glazing, and is suitable either for beginners or intermediate level makers. The course is structured so that each week focuses on a different technique, but we also place a lot of emphasis on time for practice and experimenting with clay. I am currently attending a 12 week pottery course and I am loving it. Our teacher is great and we are learning different techniques and given plenty of time to work on our own projects. The studio has everything we need to learn pottery and the environment is really friendly and relaxed.

We learnt hand building, slab building and throwing. Teaching is weighted towards the beginning of the sessions and as the weeks go on you have more and more time to make whatever you'd like with the teacher there to answer questions. The class was always a lovely part of my week that I'd look forward to.

Where to begin! This studio is incredible! Such a wonderful and warm vibe run by the loveliest people! Everyone is so nice and they’re all really great teachers. The group setting is a warm and friendly community and making with clay is truly healing. No matter the course or studio (they have 2 and they’re both gorgeous) you can’t go wrong and you’ll wish you started long ago! My favourite is Stine who owns the studio (and is an incredible artist! Her work is inspirational) but I know the whole team is awesome.
