Your workshop tutor Kip made his very first paper cut map as a Christmas gift in 2012. He wanted to create and give something that was at once personal, unique, creative and memorable. He chose a city that mattered, where very happy times had been spent, and through a very deft bit of subterfuge obtained an address around which to centre the map and started to create it. Kip now wants very much to share that process with you and teach you how to make one yourself.

Things to remember

You'll choose an location to centre the map around and Kip will bring you a pre-drawn street map of that area for the class. In map terms it will cover one square mile around your chosen location. The map itself will be 21cm x 21cm square. When drawing…

A brilliant experience of learning to paper cut with Kip. He very kindly took the time to prep up my map of the area surrounding our house. I didn't get it finished int he two and a half hours, but I feel confident that I have the skills to finish it on my own. I do live in Central London so I guess there were rather more cuts needed than if I lived in the countryside!! I've signed up to do another one.
