What you will do
3 hour workshop
A new London Drawing workshop in collaboration with artist John Close- taking you into galleries and in front of some of the most fantastic art London has to offer!
Join artist and art history fan John Close for an afternoon of insights and drawing in the permanent exhibitions at the fabulous Tate Britain.
Take a look at the birth of celebrity in this exciting workshop focusing on society portraits at Tate Britain. Working from paintings creates exciting and ingenious variations, and we will explore pencil and graphite techniques to deal with challenges such as portraiture, costume, texture and composition. Often, gallery sketchers will focus on one small part of a painting, and in this session we will discuss a technical approach to structure an entire scene.
