If you have ever wished you could draw but don't know where to start - OR you can draw but you wish you knew how to improve - these classes are just right for you!
Our JANUARY classes are exploring Gesture and Style
Gesture and style in drawing can be a bit of a mystery for a lot of people. These classes will help you learn how to add poetry, feeling and style to your drawing. We will be exploring how to find marks that convey the idea of a subject, how to eliminate unnecessary information, how to compose the drawing to create the most effective result….and lots lots more!
Our FEBRUARY classes are exploring Preparation for Life-drawing
A lot of people arrive at life drawing classes not quite sure what to do or how to approach the task of drawing the model. Using photographic images of models, these preparatory classes will teach you how to use quick gestural marks to get a grasp of the pose quickly; how to use tonal structure to describe volume and weight; and how to use anatomical features to get greater accuracy. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned life-drawer, these classes will help you understand how to approach life drawing with confidence and style.
Our MARCH classes are exploring how to draw Trees
Because one cannot draw every leaf, drawing trees necessarily demands that you learn how to simplify the information and find marks that convey the impression of the foliage, the texture of the bark, the ever decreasing size of branches. These classes will help you find your way to respond to the challenge.
Our APRIL classes are exploring the Head and Facial Features
We will be taking a close look at each of the facial features - eyes, nose, mouth and ears, how to fit them together and ensure they turn as the head turns, how to approach hair, how to create expression, ….. and many many more useful tips! If you have ever felt like you wished you could draw faces these classes will help you to approach the topic knowing what you need to do.
