I absolutely loved this online workshop hosted by Helene at Smitten with ink. It was the perfect thing to do to relax and unwind. I learnt so much and Helene was very generous with her time and knowledge, during and after the class. I highly recommend this online workshop, such good value for money and so fun! I can't stop practising and have been using what I learnt as time to switch off, which is just what I needed during such uncertain and scary times! Thanks again, Helene! x

I really enjoyed this class. Hélène had prepared an excellent step-by-step guide which showed the stages to build up through shapes, letters and words and will be a useful reference for continuing to practice. I loved that you only need pen and paper to do this class as well. Merci Hélène.

Having never tried my hand at calligraphy before, this class was ideal for a beginner like me. Helene is a great teacher and paced the class really well. Her instructions were very clear and easy to follow and her passion for calligraphy infectious. I really enjoyed the session and the whole experience of ‘being in the moment’ with it. Have already been practising for 10 – 15 minutes every day and am looking forward to developing my calligraphy skills. Many thanks Helene!

Loved this workshop and Helene was a delightful teacher! The workshop was a great way to introduce myself to the basic strokes for calligraphy. It was done at just the right pace and Helene was very clear when showing how to drawn each letter and its variants. I enjoyed not only the artistic element of drawing the shapes/letters, but also the quiet mindfulness involved with concentrating on being in the moment. My favourite letters are "f" and "o" where you can play around with the loops - thank you Helene!

This was such an enjoyable class. Great coverage of basics and easy to follow worksheets. You can create something beautiful at the end of the class. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a mindfulness activity. But it is really relaxing and calming. Great way to spend an hour to get away from everything.

Very relaxing 1.5 hours! (Tip - if using Zoom on your mobile, then once into the class, swipe to the left so that you are on Gallery view that way you'll see the teacher!! Otherwise you'll only see the main camera which is the paperwork)

This was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning. Helene is a great teacher and very patient. The pace of the class was just right and I certainly felt like I’d achieved something by the end of it!

A lovely class! I’ve tried (and failed) forms of calligraphy and brush lettering before. This was much more achievable and clicked better in my brain than other methods I’ve tried.

Loved this session. Calligraphy for everyone. Works really well as a virtual class and ended up being one on one. Helena takes her time with you and talks you through the steps. Have already started doing my own calligraphy at home!

Smitten with Ink was a fantastic host, she had arranged technology so you could see her and her paper. The workbook she shared in advance was professional and helpful - for the session itself and for practice after. She was inclusive of everyone in the group, encouraging and shared her own personal experiences of the benefits of calligraphy for a mindful state. I loved the techniques she taught and spent the rest of my weekend playing around with it - I particularly liked that you didn't need any special kit to have a go. Fantastic session - would highly recommend.

An amazing class with a wonderful teacher! The class had a foundation in technique and we went through how to write the whole alphabet and all of the strokes you need to know. Fantastic workshop. It was so nice to have a bit of calm and relaxing 'me' time; I'm now addicted to faux-calligraphy and have been practising everyday. Helene was great at explaining the different strokes used and there was plenty of time to follow along with the workbook she sent in advance. She also offered advice on the type of paper and different pens we might like to try. Thank you Helene.
