My daughter and I learned how to make a Mandala drawing, which could later be painted. Time went by fast once we started creating our own drawings. The facility was nice, the teacher, Ubie, very helpful, and we spent almost three hours using our imagination. The experience was very relaxing, and we came up with two drawings that we wouldn't have thought we could do! We also enjoyed spending some quality time together. Thank you.

MoozaWe learnt the principles of a mandala, drawing it step-by-step so we built up our own unique picture. Ubie was friendly and patient and explained everything clearly as we went along. I took this class with my son so it was lovely to spend time together doing something different. Once we had created our mandala, Ubie explained colour theory and what colours went with each other. By the end of the afternoon I took home a picture I am really proud of. Ubie and Matt made us feel so welcome in their lovely home and gave us tea and biscuits! Would recommend this class.

DominikaI had a great day learning how to make a Temari ball. Ubie explained the principles of dividing up the ball and preparing the threads very clearly and provided lots of positive energy! She also explained how colours could be manipulated to give different looks and how different patterns worked. I ended up finishing the ball and was very excited to try it again!!
GatesI had drawn some very basic mandalas before so was amazed at how much more complex I was able to make my firstly proper one with Ubie. She was an excellent teacher, providing simple tips and encouragement. The small size of the class meant we all got help when needed, so you never felt stuck for long. Matt and Ubie were also very welcoming and provided us with refreshments throughout! I will be definitely booking another session with UbieDesigns soon.

I don’t count myself as very creative, but the structure of the approach made it possible for me to make something I genuinely love, plus I have the skills to carry on drawing mandalas at home, with very little equipment. I’ve already bought a voucher for the class for a friend!
AliceI really enjoyed this class. After doing other classes with Ubie I was introduced to Mindful Pattern but initially thought the designs were too complicated for me to achieve. Im so glad I accepted the challenge . Ubie broke down the patterns into easy, achievable steps. I cant wait for the holiday period to sit down and dazzle my family with my designs! Both Ubie and Matt create a comfortable, creative and relaxing setting. I found it inspiring to be surrounded by Ubie's mandala creations, including on the cups! I would definately recommend any of her classes for a relaxing, enjoying and creative time.

S SI thoroughly enjoyed this dotting class. We learnt how to create beautifully round dots with a variety of tools and in different sizes, filling in practice designs. We then learnt how to make our own patterns and transfer our skills from paper to stones and other objects. Ubie is a very patient and helpful teacher and it's a lovely venue with great natural light and a very relaxed feel.

KKasiaI learnt the basic rules and techniques for creating mandala art works. All of the equipment was provided as well as some reference materials for inspiration. When it came to the painting, we were given the opportunity to explore three different water colour methods as well as markers. Ubie is a great teacher. She provided good instruction and was available to help us at any point. She gave encouraging advice based on her knowledge and experience. Her and Matt welcomed us to the venue and are friendly and genuinely nice. I liked that the class size was small, we could interact with each other and Ubie. This class was held in the Cass Art Islington store which was convenient for me. The staff were accommodating even though it was busy. There was plenty of space for 4 of us and it did not bother me that customers were watching or interacting with our group. I really enjoyed this class and would love to attend other classes run be Ubie in the future.
KezThe Angel venue was a great location for me, a few mins walk from station. The Cass store was bright & airy and walking through the door got me into an 'antistic' mood. Ubie & Matt made me feel very welcome and relaxed as being 'a non painter' I didnt feel very confident. Ubie is a great teacher explaining each process in detail, patient, supportive, always on hand when I got stuck and offered the perfect suggestion! It was worth the visit just to view the amazing Mandalas she created and had on display! I will be returning!

We had the opportunity to practice the patterns first, and to choose colours from an amazing array of paints. We then settled into the gentle rhythm of dotting our stones. Enjoyed it so much we bought a kit to carry on at home.

Lizzy HoulderI attended the Mindful Pattern course with Ubie which was really fantastic. Ubie has a very friendly and encouraging way of teaching. The classes are small and you get lots of attention and help from her as well as lots of encouragement. I particularly like that Ubie Takes pictures Of you While you are working and at the end of the session which she then sends on to you. There is plenty of refreshments throughout the session. I really enjoyed my day and would highly recommend Ubie‘s other sessions as well, such as Mandala drawing and painting which I attended beforehand.

Initially I thought it would be a huge task to try to create a Mandala like Ubie's but with her guidance and step by step tuition my friend and I created a beautiful design each. We were given teas and and cofree throughout the morning and were not rushed at all. We bought some packs from Ubiedesign so we can create more mandalas at home. These were well priced and beautifully boxed. Ubie and her husband Matt were very welcoming and an interesting couple. This was a great way to spend the morning. We drove from Sevenoaks in Kent especially for the class and will be booking for the sitting class and/ or watercolour too.. After the class we had lunch in a lovely vegan place in East Dulwich - really nice place. I recommend this class for anyone creative. You do not need to be artistic at all as stencil templates were provided. I felt this was a good quality class and well worth the money as we each took home a canvas of our design.

Ubie was very sweet - enthusiastic and patient, gently helping us make the most of our class, suggesting how to improve designs, and subtly correcting bits that has gone wrong. It was a lovely mindful class, and I’d recommend it to anyone. Also great to have a fully finished item when leaving.

I was pleasantly surprised that by the end, I was still wanting to draw and paint! The time flies very quickly, as you are in such a comfortable and encouraging setting. The class is small and in a space that gives you a lot of attention and guidance. Ubie and Matt are very friendly and welcoming, and this made the experience even more enjoyable, as the environment is positive and uplifting. I left with a greater sense and appreciation of art, but more importantly, a desire to continue with drawing and painting. I look forward to attending more of Ubie's classes and highly recommend trying it, even if you have never taken any art classes. Just show up with an open mind and eagerness to learn!

I love the fact that I can walk into her house with absolutely nothing, not even a pencil and come out with a great art piece. She organise it all very well. Me and few of my friends did an all day workshop with Ubie and we all had a great time. Both Ubie and Mat are so welcoming and heartwarming. Always makes us feel very comfortable that time simply flies. I highly Recomended this workshop with Ubie.
ShilpiWhat an incredible 4 hour course! I can't praise Ubie's Mandotla paint dotting class highly enough. From the moment we arrived, Ubie and Matt were so warm and welcoming to their studio. Refreshments were provided throughout the course. Ubie is the most wonderful teacher: she exudes so much enthusiasm and passion and took a great deal of time with each of us to help with our designs and the painting dotting process. It was a really relaxed and sociable morning with like-minded souls. The end result was unlike anything I could have hoped for - I'm so happy with my stone! Thank you both for the best course. I fully intend to return asap for more Mandotla paint dotting, as well as Mandala painting!

I learn the basics of using watercolor pencils, acrilic paint and watercolor. How to combine colours for best effects. All materials were provided. I took home the mandala I completed. I have a sense of achievement and feel great. I highly recommend Ubie as a teacher. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping individuals achieve the effects that they would like too. Ubie is an excellent teacher. Thank you both! Looking forward to enjoying more classes in the future.

I am not usually that bothered about art (terrible at school!) but I surprised myself and really enjoyed it!!
