This program will teach you how to create a figurative sculpture using a photographic reference.
This is a 1 week minimum to a 3 week maximum course. The work will be scaled at 1/4, and students might sculpt a torso or a full figure.
The focus of the course is centered on learning to grid, read, and translate two-dimensional shapes into 3-dimensional volumes as well as practicing observation skills and learning the underlying anatomical structure of the human body.
This is a fundamental technique that provides the sculptor with a great skill set.
