1.5 hour workshop
This beginner’s private lesson is the perfect way to learn a new skill and create your own hand-made ceramic pots. During the lesson you will experience what it’s like to create pots on the potter’s wheel. Kicking off with a demonstration, you will watch Amanda in action. Then it’s your turn; Amanda will tailor the lesson to your needs depending on your experience and capabilities. Explaining each stage, Amanda will help you create two pots and experience different techniques on the wheel. Towards the end, there will be time to explore and practice what you’ve learnt. Your pots will be bisque fired and ready for collection after two weeks. If you wish, you can share the experience by bringing a friend for free. (Time on the wheel will be shared equally and you create one pot each).

About your host, Trinity Art Studios
Trinity Art Studios was founded in 2005 by the artist Ian Robert Felton. It is located at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London's Docklands beneath London's only lighthouse and where two rivers meet. This large studio is housed in a beautiful brick building from 1835. Original oak beams in the high ceiling with natural sunlight illuminating the space.
Ian has developed his own exercises and techniques to explore the world of colour through oil paint. His abstract paintings have become very iconic and collectable. From the same venue he hosts a collective of many other professional, semi professional and amateur artists. Every quarter the studio holds its seasonal exhibitions.
Directions: We are located at Trinity Buoy Wharf, 4 Orchard Place, London, E14 0JY accessible by East India and Canning Town DLR. There is parking on site; if you speak with security at the gate they can issue you a permit. If you arrive after 7pm, the gate to Trinity Buoy Wharf may be closed. If this is the case, please contact Amanda directly on 07932874227. Once on site you can find Amanda in our Sculpture Studio within the old Boiler House (opposite The Parkour Academy). Ceramics on the Wheel: Everything needed for the lesson will be provided including an apron. It can get a little messy so please do not wear your best clothes. In the winter you may want to bring a jumper. Don’t forget you can turn up on the day with a friend for free and share the experience.
