Two session course
You will look at and discuss a range of print examples to understand what sugar lift etchings look like, and to identify the difference between different aquatints. You will learn how to prepare, draw, etch and print an etching plate with sugar lift and aquatint to create a lovely painterly tonal print.
You will be encouraged to take proofs to record the process of making the plate and how layers of different techniques can alter the whole image. You will print in black and white and add colour through relief roll or chine collee. At the end of the course…
An A5 etching plate, paper and inks are included. Pease bring a sketchbook, drawings or photographs to work with and some paintbrushes.
Tea and coffee provided. There is a microwave if you want to heat food.
