6 hour class
Inspired by Chris Christodoulou's exhibition, Home, this course will explore Drypoint printmaking. After looking at Chris's prints you will take plates out of the studio to draw on, returning to the studio to make prints. Learn how to ink and print the plates to achieve the dark and smudgy lines characteristic of drypoint, and which Chris uses to such good effect in his work. You will have the opportunity to add to your plates, to layer up the image to include more drawing, or to make the image darker for example. Add personal narrative elements to explore personal meanings and mark making.
