In this class, you will explore collagraph and drypoint techniques, using both together to achieve complex, textured images. You will make a traditional varnished cardboard collagraph plate and a more experimental version using another base, exploring surface and texture using found materials such as fabrics, textured papers, tape & moulding paste. You will print your collagraphs using both relief and intaglio techniques, can rework the blocks to develop your images incorporating further drypoint lines and marks. In a series of exciting proofs you will explore the possibilities of these two enviromentally friendly and cheap and accessible printmaking mediums.
