What happens in this class?

Pottery Throwing Taster Workshop. Practising centralizing the clay and throwing cylinder. This is a real excperience with clay. Get messy.

We will learn centralizing the clay and pulling the wall, making the basic cylinder. It's a one-off experience and you can be addicted after the class.

We use basic stoneware clay, it's very good for throwing. Hopefully, at the end of the class, you will have few pots, which can be fired if you request.

I look forward to teaching you how to throw on the wheel!

Things to remember

If you have an apron, please bring it along.

It was my very first time throwing clay. It was very fun, we threw 5 balls and I only managed to make 4 stand up. Edit was very kind, the studio space is fun to visit. It was a good experience.

Edit’s throwing workshop was great. It was a small class of only 5 people meaning she could take the time to assist all of us individually when needed. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to pick up my final pots! Would recommend for anyone who’s interesting in trying throwing.

Really enjoyed it and Edit was patient and clear teacher. She was very attentive and always helped when needed.

Edit is a very good teacher, she started in the basics and during the two hours we work alone, following her tips and instructions. Although 2 hours is not enough to be an expert it does give you a very good idea if its something for you or not, besides it’s a great way to have fun.

A really great morning. Edit is a delightful teacher: engaging, attentive & knowledgeable. She gave us all time & helped us to relax & embrace our mistakes, as well as our successes. Yes, there were successes, which surprised me! Bonus that the other students were lovely! Highly recommend this.

Took my Mum for a birthday present and I think we both have a new level of respect for people who throw pottery on a daily basis. Definitely a workout and can be challenging but having Edit there made a much more enjoyable process! (definitely saved a few of my pots too!!)

It was a present for my boyfriend and it's absolutely worth the money!!! It's an amazing experience thanks to the lovely teacher Edit. We did so much within the 2 hours and were able to create 6 pieces each and after she will dry and glaze them we can pick them up after like 2 weeks. My boyfriend and I are both really happy with the results and Edit was such a good, kind and helpful teacher. Would always do it again, thanks Edit and Obby!
