2 hour workshop
In our summer art workshops, you will have the option to create a linocut print, hand-build with clay, or create an experimental watercolour masterpiece!
Clay: You will be using air-drying nylon reinforced clay to hand build a lovely coil pot or bowl to take home with you! You may have the opportunity to paint your bowl during this course. If you are unable to finish, you are welcome to take it home or book another class to complete your piece.
Linocut Printing: You will be taught how to create a design and use professional equipment to cut a relief into the lino. You will be able to produce multiple prints to hang up at home and use a variety of different colours!
Experimental Watercolour: You have the choice of creating a beautiful Ann Blockley watercolour painting or a John Waterhouse tonal stain painting. These are both great ways of learning new techniques and experimenting with your art.
In our workshops, teaching and supporting you is the main priority! There will never be more than 10 students to 1 teacher.
We can't wait to meet you!

About your host, art-K Clapham
art-K teaches art adults across 23 branches in England in dedicated studio spaces.
They provide a calm, welcoming studio where students can learn a variety of mediums such as pastels, watercolours, acrylics, clay, and papier-mâché, to help each individual develop a variety of techniques.
The studio is run by Zoë, an adventurous artist who has just moved to the UK after teaching in Cambodia for 4 years. She graduated from University with a degree in Studio Art from California State Fullerton and has extensive experience in artistic and creative settings. Zoë is passionate about working in a creative environment and teaching those around her the wonders of art.
Please wear clothes you feel comfortable getting messy in. Clay is powdery and may leave white spots on your clothes, but it will come off quite easily. Acrylic paint, however, does not come out of fabric so well!
