In Medieval tiles the surface pattern or figure is produced by different colours of clay rather than the use of glazes.
Design and make a set of carved tiles - either a single motif or a tessellating pattern. Explore various techniques including slip decoration, stencilling and inlaying.
By the end of the course you should have completed at least one set of carved tiles with your own design. You should also have created a mould you can use again to make multiples of the same design.
