Starter exercise - You will start with a range of exercise to familiarise yourself with the drawing instrument and the range of possibilities in terms of tone and mark-making that are possible. You will discover how lines differently spaced in cross hatching can enable large areas of light or dark within a drawing.
You will look at the work of Durer & Van Gogh to gain an appreciation of their technique and approach to this medium. The benefit of looking at the work of other artists can both inspire and inform your own understanding of the subject.
