It was fun experience and I really enjoy it!
We were really excited to attend this class and ended up having quite a bad experience. The main teacher made us feel like we were not welcome and were bothering her just being there. It created quite an awkward atmosphere. Explanations were hurried and not too helpful, and we were rushed to finish quite some time before the 2h were over. We will definitely not be coming back.
It was an amazing workshop, the teacher was incredibly helpful, explained all the steps and helped everyone during the session. I would love to come back to do more workshop! 100% recommend this ✨
I couldn’t go sadly- my husbands dad passed away, so we rearranged it- and then on the day we were meant to go we unfortunately had to take our son to A&E. I tried to rearrange again but never got a response to that request.
Maison S.Sommet’s BYOB clay throwing ( just off the old Kent Road with parking available) offers two hours of gentle artistic bliss, though honestly, it’s the sort of experience you’ll wish could go on for twice as long. We arrived as a family of five, plus our dog, and were met by our warm and endlessly patient hostess and teacher, Tanvi. Let me tell you, Tanvi is the sort of calm, guiding presence who could probably talk you through nuclear disarmament with a smile. Her instructions were clear, her encouragement unwavering, and somehow she made even the most clumsy among us feel like they had a shot at creating a masterpiece. The atmosphere was delightfully intimate. It felt safe and welcoming, like you could fully embrace your inner creative without a hint of judgement. Tanvi’s talent lay not just in her own pottery skills but in her ability to make everyone believe they had a little Michelangelo in them. And while our clay works won’t be gracing any galleries anytime soon, they’re priceless to us. There’s something genuinely therapeutic about moulding clay, your hands covered in the earthy, tactile material, letting your imagination (and your glass of wine) do the rest. It felt like the perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life. Honestly, we’d have stayed forever if we could. I highly recommend giving this a go if you’re looking to unwind and reconnect with your creative side—it’s an utterly brilliant way to spend an afternoon. Plus, who wouldn’t want to come home with something handmade and a sense of accomplishment? We’ll definitely be back.
I booked the BYOB pottery workshop as a surprise for my husband. He and I had an amazing time and would highly recommend the class. It was fun to be able to make as many things we want and then choose our best ones to fire and glaze. It was definitely fun and I would return and recommend
I really enjoyed the workshop and it made me want to learn more. I only wish it was a bit longer because for beginners, everything takes longer so and extra 40min to 1h would have been perfect.
Booked an evening BYOB throwing class with my bestie. We had a BLAST!!! Thank you so much for teaching us. Can't wait to get my teacup and vases! 💜
A Transformative First Pottery Class Experience I recently had the pleasure of attending my very first pottery class, and I can confidently say it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked into the studio, I was enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The Vibe: Creative and Inspiring The studio itself was a haven of creativity. The walls were adorned with beautiful pottery pieces, showcasing the incredible talent of both the instructor and previous students. The soft lighting and calming music created an ambiance that encouraged exploration and self-expression. I felt a sense of community as I joined fellow beginners, all excited to embark on this artistic journey together. Laughter and chatter filled the air, making it clear that this was a space where creativity flourished. The Teacher: A True Artisan Our instructor - Tanvi was nothing short of amazing. With a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for pottery, they guided us through each step of the process with patience and enthusiasm. Their ability to break down complex techniques into manageable steps made learning accessible and enjoyable. They encouraged us to embrace our mistakes as part of the creative process, which helped alleviate any initial anxiety I had about my lack of experience. What truly stood out was the instructor's personalized approach. They took the time to connect with each student, offering constructive feedback and tailored advice. Their infectious enthusiasm for pottery inspired us all to push our boundaries and explore our creativity. It was evident that they genuinely cared about our progress and wanted us to leave the class feeling accomplished. The Experience: Hands-On and Engaging The hands-on nature of the class was exhilarating. We started with basic techniques, learning how to shape and mold the clay. As I worked with my hands, I felt a sense of connection to the material and a newfound appreciation for the art of pottery. The instructor’s demonstrations were clear and engaging, and I found myself lost in the rhythm of the wheel and the tactile nature of the clay. By the end of the class, I had created my very first piece of pottery—a simple bowl that I was incredibly proud of. The sense of achievement I felt was overwhelming, and I left the studio with a newfound passion for pottery and a desire to continue my journey. Conclusion: A Must-Try Experience Overall, my first pottery class was nothing short of magical. The vibrant atmosphere, the supportive community, and the exceptional instructor combined to create an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to explore their artistic side, regardless of skill level. I can’t wait to return and continue honing my pottery skills!
if you want something a bit different to do with clients or your own team, this is worth thinking about. Loads of fun and the staff were amazing
A wonderful birthday treat! Facilitator Milo was extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere.
Well priced. Nice people. Lovely studio.
I had a great time. I like that the class size was not too big. I would definitely come back
Fab class !! Would highly recommend this. Learned additional skills. Will certainly be booking another class soon. I am hoping that courses will be offered also so we can advance our techniques rather than one off classes only.
I had so much fun! The tutorial is amazing, I was a complete beginner and was still able to make two things I wanted to keep, a cup and a dish. Our teacher was really patient and helped us all correct mistakes without judging us for how silly they were, and was clearly super talented!! Will definitely be back!
This is actually my second time here, the first time I had a 2 hrs pottery & throwing session with my partner, and the second time I came by to make a piece of pottery. Stephanie, the owner, is very accomodating and kind. The studio and instructors are fantastic as well. Would highly recommend.
Fun workshop, with so much to learn. The space is great and well set up for teaching. An extra hour, or an option to stay a little longer would have been great — it felt a little rushed, especially for working with clay for the first time!
Very helpful with great advice. A great time!
Class was really good, enjoy all 2 hours, come again, recommend
Great class - perfect balance of instructing + freedom - highly recommend!
Super chilled activity, the staff were really lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend to my friends. Would visit again in a heartbeat.
I went for a tester session with my work colleagues and we had a wonderful time with Emma. She tailored her approach to each of us (we were 7) understanding our different levels, skills and curiosities. Emma encouraged us to experiment with the materials and most of all have fun while getting creative!
Great experience. My girlfriend and I had a great time trying out pottery for the first time. The instructor was very helpful! Highly recommend!
great chilled class, defo reccomend.
Had a very good time
We joined with two adults and two 8 year olds, and had an absolutely wonderful time! The instruction was excellent, and the pace was relaxed. Everyone got the level of attention necessary to be successful making a few objects. We all plan the return with more of our family to make more!
Excellent intimate class with a passionate teacher, who was happy to give everyone time. Nice background music to accompany. Professional setup. Such an enjoyable experience and great to do with friends! Makes me want to book in and go again. Would highly recommend!
We had a lovely time learning how to coil build and throw on the wheel. It was a small and intimate class which meant we were able to get help easily. Would definitely recommend as a solo, date or group activity! We went to celebrate a birthday and had a great time!
A bit disappointing unfortunately. We were 12 people for one teacher who was completely overwhelmed. And the result is not glorious, one of my cup is broken… I don’t know how it happened but nobody apologized for this. On top of that, the colors don’t look good… I would not go back unfortunately
I attended this class with my partner just before giving birth and my partner really enjoyed it. My piece exploded in the kiln ( I was aware this is always a possibility ), and they have kindly agreed to me going back to remake something, or a small refund (£5) can be given to me. I look forward to going back!
We had a really lovely time doing the taster lesson with T. She was very warm and welcoming and taught us a lot in the 2 hours we spent doing hand-building and throwing on the potter wheel. The other groups that attended there too were all very friendly. Overall a great atmosphere and would highly recommend.
Great class, super fun
We had such a fun time!!!!! Stephanie was awesome!!!!
A nice day! Slightly rushed to finish off at the end.
What a delightful experience! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Highly recommended!
We had an amazing time at Maison S. Sommet!! We loved the pottery workshop a lot, we got to try 2 different techniques and it was a lot of fun! Highly recommend 😊
Really enjoyed the 2 hour introductory session with my 11 year old son. We were given useful tuition and were helped whenever we needed it. I can't wait to see our pots, mugs and figurine in a few weeks when they have been fired. We could easily have wiled away another 2 hours without noticing. I recommend for anyone - no prior experience or skills necessary - just great fun. Thank you very much
A lovely session with a skilled tutor. Highly recommended
Lovely experience, we had a great time. Thank you so much!
A great way to spend your Sunday morning. I found the class very relaxing. Teacher was good and fun and made sure everyone received her attention. Looking forward to joining them again.
Booked the 5pm class with Alex and had the BEST time. We got to coil build, and have two turns on the wheel and then paint our items. For those 2 hours, my brain was completely focused on pottery and it was the perfect activity to just turn off thoughts and focus. This class has really kick started my love for pottery so much so im looking at doing a 6 week course. Highly recommend to go alone, or with friends like I did or even a date night. You will not regret! I’m so excited for my pieces to arrive (you can arrange for an extra £10 to have them delivered)!
Great teachers and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Great experience! We had booked this as a birthday activity for kids. They had lots of fun, and created beautiful (and useful!) works of art. I’d definitely recommend this, and will consider doing it myself in the future. Thanks for a great time!
Had a great time. Went alone and the instructor was very welcoming and kind. The whole environment was very relaxing and felt pressure free. I learnt a lot and feel very fulfilled having learnt the basics of a new skill.
Lenny was brilliant. Thank you for a relaxed and friendly morning of pottery making!
Such a fun experience! The perfect balance between independent and guided work and you are allowed to go at your own pace. Nice mixture of hand building and throwing working which was fun to experience both! The studio was beautiful and spacious and Lenny was AMAZING! Super kind and professional and very helpful in every step. Definitely will come again!
Fantastic experience
As a beginner who has only worked with air dry clay, it’s been super helpful to learn a few more techniques. Price for the session is really good considering materials are included, just wish it could be longer, I would definitely pay a bit more for the time!
Lovely instructors and so much fun! Will definitely be back for the third time!
Fantastic. Really good fun. Covered a lot in the two hours. Plus go home with whatever you create. Highly recommend!
Hugely enjoyable. I hope to come back
My daughter celebrated her 14th birthday with 4 friends here. The pottery tasting workshop was expertly lead and the kids were well engaged. I'd highly recommend this. All kids made some cool pieces on the wheel.
An amazing afternoon. The class was a great mix of educational and letting your creative spirit run free. Would recommend.
A fantastic afternoon- well organised and great fun. Thanks
Everything good, I needed some help with my piece and they came to help a few times and made sure I could finish it and explained to me the mistakes. Loved it
We went as a party of 4 and we’re hoping to have some light fun to start a weekend in London. We did and so much more, it was brilliant. The staff (led by Leny) we amazingly helpful. We enjoyed the taster experience so much we have searched for pottery in our area. Thank you
The taster class was delightful, more fun than O thought it would be frankly. It's surprisingly easily to get something made, albeit not well of course. Lenny was fantastic, very helpful, patient and generous. This was a treat
Well worth it. Alex really involved our 7 year old and made the experience extra fun for her. Thank you!
I can’t speak highly enough about the experience we had at the studio. We booked a private session as a family and Stephanie was kind enough to allow us to bring our three year old son to the session. We were hosted for the session by Lenny who really made the whole session enjoyable. Not only did she make the session fun for us, she really helped us to quickly get to grips with all the various techniques. Our son was in his element building clay rubbish trucks! We had the best time ever at the studio and we’d go back again in a heartbeat.
Amazing Experience for my 7 years old doughter and I, so much fun. The team was so frendly and helpful!!! Thank you
Amazing size studio and informative teacher Alex. The class is very organised & hands on from start to finish and you get to try coil and on the wheel work. The only thing is that there’s not enough time, 3 hours would have been ideal. Overall great first pottery experience at the Ceramicists & will try book more pottery classes for this new love for pottery!
I really enjoyed this workshop. It was good to give it a try to both hand-building and throwing on the potter wheel, as a first-timer into pottery I had no clue about each way of building a clay piece. The teacher was really good and took the time to assist everyone. It would be great if the workshop took a little longer, an additional hour or two. In two hours, you have to rush to get things done. Apart from that, I liked it and would recommend it to anyone interested in giving pottery a try.
I booked this pottery taster workshop for my family as a surprise and would highly recommend it! It was super relaxed and fun, whilst learning key techniques to practice whilst building your pots and mugs. We really enjoyed it and felt like we tapped out of reality for the little while we were there. Great location if you're based in south east ldn too :)
We had a great time with this workshop! I was so impressed we got to try to much, hand building, wheel throwing and even colouring our pieces. The time was super well managed and I felt we really made the most of the 2 hours. The studio was such a lovely space and the instructor was so helpful. Would absolutely recommend!
Came here to celebrate my birthday, Alex was lovely and so helpful showing us all the different techniques . We all had such a good time, well worth the money!
Really nice workshop!
Great class taught by Alex, enough time to try both aspects of potery and make something at least usable!
An amazing introduction to pottery! Great and easy to follow instructions and a good chance to try pottery. Only thing is I would have wanted more time which can only be a positive thing!!!
Super fun experience; the atmosphere was great and the instructor was welcoming.
Twelve of us booked a private taster session at The Ceramicists as part of a 60th birthday celebration. We all had a great time during the two hours each marking or (trying to make) three clay pieces, two on the potter's wheel and one from coiled clay, with the birthday girl's music playlist in the background. Our teacher Meli was an excellent, fun host and a very good teacher. We all felt we had genuinely learnt a new skill, all be it requiring some more practice. Looking forward to seeing all of the fired pieces when we pick them up in a few days. Definitely recommend!
Absolutely LOVED our time with the Ceramicists! Had such fun both coiling and throwing on the wheel - with so much time and guidance offered, to make sure we were able to make something that looked great. At the end of the session we had plenty of time for decoration too, and throughout we were encouraged to be as creative as our minds would allow. Would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone curious about the hobby - you'll leave feeling excited about pottery and most likely start sizing up areas at home to keep on going! 😅 Brilliant workshop. 10/10
Excellent class. Really good, welcoming instruction in an encouraging atmosphere.
Great instruction and great set up. Felt welcomed and relaxed during the experience. Can't wait to try pottery again!
Myself and my family had the best time at the Ceramicists for my sisters birthday. Laura was a great teacher and her enthusiasm and knowledge made for an engaging experience. We all came away with a little bit more knowledge about throwing and coiling and with some half decent looking pieces too! Thanks Laura and the Ceramicists! Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in trying pottery out.
The session was great fun... lots of hands-on help to get us making some pretty impressive stuff... looking forward to collecting the finished pieces.!!
Super fun, exceeded expectations for a pottery class - felt like you had more than enough time with the clay. Didn’t feel like you were being overly managed, given a lot of creative freedom and time to explore the skill. Would highly recommend- the team are so friendly and helpful! Ready to pick this up as a hobby because of this session!
Very nice introduction into pottery and how to use the wheel! It was a fun experience and a great date idea. £55 is on the heavy side, given that you need to rush to finish up and need to pay an additional £5 per item you crafted on the wheel. Alex was very nice in letting us finish up our items even after the allocated time and was a very good instructor. It would be a nice idea to have her to take pictures of the participants while crafting.
We loved this class. It was such a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Both instructors were very helpful in guiding us on our first pottery wheel experience.
It's worth coming out and doing the pottery class here. it was so fun and the instruction was very clear and helpful, making the experience fantastic.
Great activity, staff were friendly and the environment was great, we got a chance to make an item using a coil Method which was included in the ticket price and we also had 2 chances to throw on the wheel. If you wanted to keep any of the pieces we made on the wheel this was at an additional cost of £5 per piece.
Really relaxed and fun atmosphere! We had Lenny and Alex as our instructors who were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their craft. The studio is light and communal (our work station, including pottery wheel) was in a group of 4 so my husband and friend could chat and see each other's creations). A lovely taster session if you want to try both coiling and wheel throwing techniques for pottery, and generally an interactive and wholesome activity for a romantic or friend date! Thanks very much Ceramicists!
Thoroughly enjoyable few hours. Great teaching. Friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you.
I really enjoyed the taster class. It was great to try something new. Lenny's explanations were fun and easy to follow, which made the whole experience a joy. Will definitely be back to develop my ceramics skills further :) Can't recommend enough!
Had a brilliant time! The instructors were so friendly, and greaf teachers too. Would absolutely do it again!
Did this course with my mum who is a total beginner. I had done some clay work before but I loved this course, tailored to our different levels of experience and made everything clear, accessible, challenging and fun. We went home with 3 vessels each and a lot of learning! Such a fabulous place to do it too, tidy, organised, friendly. Loved it! Thank you
Really interesting and fun event…:. Really recommend
I absolutely loved this workshop. The approach and technique was really clearly explained and the teacher was really patient. We got stuck in straight away and actually had lots of things to bring home. I really recommend it.
This was a fantastic taster workshop, it was my first time working with clay and I enjoyed the introduction to hand building and throwing on the wheel. I have picked up my fired pieces and everything looks fantastic. I’m now looking forward to taking the 6 week course!
We had a really great time in this class. It was nicely paced and we got to make three different items. We came away feeling we'd learned something and look forward to going back again sometime.
Had a great time - would highly recommend to even those who don't like arts and craft (like myself)
amazing experience!! thank you so much
A great morning spent at the taster class. I took my daughter (5 year old) and she absolutely loved it. Throughly recommend this class!
We had a really lovely taster session with Melissa and each came away with a few pieces we could be proud of! Melissa was great at explaining the process and was helpful during the session. Fun afternoon!
Great taster workshop. Teachers were thorough and attentive and covered a lot in just two hours. Very pleased, I’m now thinking of attending a longer ceramic workshop.
Very informative and therapeutic. I love that there wasn’t any pressure to make our designs something perfect and our instructors did a great job helping us make our pieces maintain structure. Deffo would recommend!
Great fun! Really enjoyed trying the pottery wheel even if my bowl collapsed. Would highly recommend if you want to try something new and are willing to get your hands dirty.
Myself and Kate absolutely loved our pottery workshop. Both Alex and Leni were amazing and felt the pace and atmosphere were both really good. Loved it and would definitely recommend to anyone.
Went to starter course with my 12yr old daughter, we both had great fun, and were expertly led by Lenny who was fun, enthusiastic, and exactly what you would want to make it a wholeheartedly enjoyable experience. Looking forward to booking another session.
This was such a fun session, everyone got the chance to create three pieces and decorate them. The teachers were fun, kind and patient. They made learning the basics of throwing easy to understand and achieveable. Huge thank you to the team for accommodating my son ( age 9) as not so many courses will do this. He absolutely loved his afternoon and was supported throughout the session.
A really lovely, open atmosphere, with the opportunity to learn 2 different techniques and use glazes. Our instructor was patient, clear and friendly, and the other participants were fun and creative. I'd very highly recommend the Ceramicsts!
Had a fabulous afternoon, I will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our taster session. Thanks!
Amazing pottery experience and super friendly staff. Will definitely go back!
Learnt two new techniques and the teacher was very friendly and patient. Would love to come back!
Really fun taster class!
Cool, welcoming space to have a go at two different aspects of pottery. Our teacher, Leni, was calm, kind, patient and super helpful. Learned loads and have come away with new knowledge and a spark to follow. Highly recommended!
So much information, fun and learning packed into just one day!
Really great intensive class. Stephanie lead a well orgainsed, clear and very accessible class. The facilities are great and well eqipped. The instruction was of a high standard covering a lot of ground in a short time! I would definitely recommend The Ceramicists to any one wanting to start from scratch or to continue develop their skills at a higher level.
We have loved our two hour session at the studio. Everything was good - our instructor was brilliant, funny and kind. The clay was great, the paints were cool and the space was beautiful and spacious. we will be back. thank you
Great class
Amazing workshop - the ladies were super helpful and lovely. You got to create much more than I excepted. And our creations came out amazing - would recommend to anyone keen to give pottery a go.
Really fun morning trying out a completely unique experience. Not particularly arty but was encouraged and guided and our ceramics turned out great
My friend and I really enjoyed the workshop. The intructions and demo were great - but admittedly doing it ourselves was a lot harder than expected :) I think 2hrs was a good time for a pottery taster without it being too expensive, but we would have also happily spent more time in the end on the decoration. I could imagine a 3hrs workshop also working very well. I also really enjoyed the vibes - it just seemed a very relaxed and welcoming place and I would happily do another course on day.
Great workshop - Stephanie was brilliant!
I thoroughly loved our taster ceramics session. Our teacher was helpful and we were given a lot to work with. The atmosphere was lovely to experiment in - a collective creative space with good light and a nice vibe. I’d definitely go back for another course or self lead play!
Had a grand day learning about the different techniques! Was an absolute newbie and feel excited about doing more with clay by myself! Thanks Stephanie :)
Lots of fun! Nice space and people :)
Such a fun course for a complete beginner, instructors are super friendly and passed on lots of great information and tips
Great fun!
Really fun and interesting class, teachers made it really relaxed and fun learning how to do the basics of hand building and throwing. Highly recommend for an enjoyable afternoon! Would be great for a date, with a pal or solo.
Cannot rate these people enough! Me and my neice had THE BEST day together, Lenny was amazing, took her time with everyone, explained everything so clearly. Great experience, I will definitely be back with others and well worth every penny!
Had an wonderful class, the teaching was informative and fun. Very laid back atmosphere - can’t wait to pick up our pots and mug!
A great studio full of lovely people. The tuition is brilliant, knowledgable and patient, you will be taught clearly and given plenty of time to develop your own pieces. Really glad I found the Ceramicists!
Good class, we’ll explained however more time should of been given or advised for the painting/decor time. We only had aprox 15-20min to decor all 3 items and alot of pressure to finish up once approaching the last 5 min. So didn’t end the class as enjoyable as it started…
Great fun in a friendly environment. Really enjoyed our time and want to go back.
Highly recommend! Really fun introduction to pottery and we were surprised by what we managed to produce in the end
I really enjoyed this intensive workshop. Stephanie was a great teacher in guiding us through the processes and was helpful when needed. We spent a perfect amount of time on each different kind of pottery method. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to have a taste of pottery/ceramics so they can experience what kind of style they prefer to play with. For me I enjoyed the coil method and also the wheel. More time there would have been preferred but I understand it was a class to try a bit of everything.
very patient which we appreciated. Love our time would defo recommend
It’s a very open introduction to pottery throwing and coiling. They’re open, friendly, explain everything well and they have a very good energy in the studio! We loved our instructor who had a 10/10 sense of humour. Looking forward to getting our creations back.
Fun interactive clads. Would definitely return. Thanks Lenny x
Really enjoyed the class - its hands on but small enough that you get lots of individual attention
It was wonderful session. Stephanie was attentive and showed us how to both work with coils and throw on the wheel. Good taster class. Looking forward to see how my creations turn out after glazing and firing :)
We both really enjoyed the workshop. Lenny was so detailed in demonstrating the technique, and can tell she’s passionate about what she does. We had a couple of tries on the wheel which was enjoyable, even if it’s just to get the feel of what it’s like. Had plenty of time to decorate the pieces - Lenny would check each of us, and would help when it went wrong! I would recommend this workshop to friends, and would go back to another workshop. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!
Great teacher and great taster session, made me realise I wanted to carry on learning wheel throwing rather than hand building !
I enjoyed my taster session. It has inspired me to try and do a course and learn more.
Great session. Brilliant instructors, fantastic music choice, would definitely recommend.
The ceramicist team were FANTASTIC, definitely will go back again.
Absolutely loved the pottery class. Excellent standard of teaching and very therapeutic too! Will definitely be returning. Thank you :)
Had such an incredible time at The Ceramicist: ceramic taster session this weekend, the tutor was really lovely, as well as professional, informative and very helpful throughout. I’m super proud of what I was able to achieve within the session, although I still cannot believe how quickly two hour went by…but I guess that’s a real indicator of how much fun the session actually was. Pottery in strangely therapeutic & I would definitely recommend everyone try it.
Had a great time at my taster. The tutor was friendly funny patient and informative. Felt completely comfortable and felt like she was there every time I needed advice. We covered a lot of stuff and also seeing the work of the other taster lessons got me excited at what we'd be able to do. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone interested in pottery even if you're not interested I think you'd still love this class and find that actually you are interested you just didn't know it. I can't wait to see my finished work, I'm also contemplating doing a course to see what else I can do. So overall if you couldn't tell already I'm a very satisfied customer.
Had a lovely experience! Stephanie was really accomodating (we got there a bit late) and was just super fun making stuff with your hands :)
I loved the taster workshop - it was such a fun, exciting, hands-on way to try something new, and the teachers were so talented and patient. The time totally flew by.
A brilliant class. Cannot fault it. Teachers were absolutely great!
The session was extremely enjoyable, with professional but friendly teaching and an upbeat, creative atmosphere. The level of support was just right so that we all succeeded in making pots but felt that we’d learned some independent skills too. I’d strongly recommend this, and thought it was very good value for money. It was especially good to do it with someone else, so a great present.
Well explained and relaxing class. It was a very well spent Saturday afternoon
I would definitely recommend The Ceramicist to my friends and I am planning on coming back for the 12 weeks course.
Great space, relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly good fun. (The teacher) Lenny's natural enthusiasm was infectious, and she made sure everyone walked away having achieved something. A nice introduction to pottery.
Really intimate and relaxed classes led by Some great individuals who were informative and friendly Can’t wait for the next visit :)
We attended this class as a date. The space, people, equipment and tools were all excellent. We felt comfortable and had a really enjoyable experience. It is worth arriving a few minutes early so you can work out exactly where the studio and the entrance are and get settled in before the class starts. The most difficult part was deciding what to try to make and how to decorate it. The group instruction was clear and well-structured. The class and activities moved along at a good pace so we didn't feel rushed or dawdling. Help was provided to fix mistakes and recover pieces which had started to go wrong. (I dug a whole clean through my wheel thrown piece - deftly fixed with a lump of clay.) Some individual instruction was provided, along with feedback on errors or issues. We felt able to ask questions and get sensible answers we could understand. Getting the pieces back takes a few weeks (don't have ours yet). That could be a bit better, and some more guidance (such as some clear options to choose from - make A, B, C or whatever you want, and some more examples of designs and how to achieve them would be welcome improvements - but these aren't complaints - just thinking about whether there's any way to make this taster class better.
Really great fun, got to try throwing on the wheel and hand building, had all our own equipment and the teacher was very helpful! Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of trying pottery for the first time
Very fun, relaxed session learning coiling and throwing on the wheel. The teacher was very welcoming and helpful, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly - looking forward to picking up my creations, however wonky they might be! Highly recommended.

Amazing! Greatly recommend doing this to all ages. Very kind and supportive teachers. I am 9 and made 3 pieces I am very proud of with their help.
Really lovely intro workshop - well explained and good atmosphere. Our facilitator (Melissa?) was great and was able to gauge how much help was needed for each person and created a really calm learning environment. We were both completely new to pottery and this was a accessible and fun session.
Stephanie and the team were super helpful on my taster day and sorted everything out so that we had maximum time to try the wheel and hand building.
Had a great time at this class for my wife’s birthday. Perfect for beginners and really relaxed environment. Option to have pieces delivered is also really handy. Thanks!
The class was great fun and our teacher, Melissa, was really helpful and nice. A little tight on time at the end for painting but great value for money and would definitely recommend.
Love this class - so much so that I have done it twice! Great class to try ceramics if you've never done it before; helpful instruction but overall a very chilled vibe and are left to get creative to your hearts content!
Great introduction to ceramics - very clear instructions and a great mix of help and being left to work independently.
The teachers were all very friendly and helpful, it was a fun class.
Had such a nice morning in this class! The ambient and music was great, and the teachers were super friendly and helpful when I had any questions.
The teachers were very friendly and promoting a relaxed atmosphere but I was expecting this to be a much smaller group from the previous description of the class. There were 14 people which meant everything felt quite rushed and it wasn’t easy to ask questions or get help when needed. Overall it meant it was fun but not very relaxing.
Was so much fun and really enjoyed getting to try pottery! Just wish it was slightly longer as felt rushed in the end :(
Loved this place and my pieces, friendly staff too
Had a great time and felt like I was able to get help when needed. Can’t wait for my items to be delivered!
Loved it , so much fun and made 2 great pieces , can't wait to see them fired. Will definitely go back with friends, Thanks much Steph is an expert!
An excellent couple of hours fun and learning. Perfect for my daughter’s birthday with a couple of friends. Expertly delivered and a real taster for more.
Fab! Our teacher was so kind and I love how they give us a brief but helpful lesson on pottery. Great!!
Had a great time! Lenny was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend
Great instructions! Even with a large group, they were on top of checking in with each of us and helping to fix any problems, such as holes in the clay.
Such a great introduction to coiling & using a wheel! Stefanie was really soothing and covered everything in the few hours, we didn’t feel rushed at all and had a great time as a family. Would highly recommend ! Excited to pick our pieces up in a few weeks.
Really great class, learnt how to hand sculpt and throw, our instructor was lovely! All in all great experience
stephanie was really nice, it was a great saturday!
Very fun class, highly recommend.
It was a great experience and the wheel throwing part was absolutely magical! The instructors were really friendly and encouraging. I'll probably come back for a proper course once I save up enough money :)
Really fun introduction to pottery. Was able to make 3 things, and the wheel was the most fun. Team was very helpful, friendly and capable of teach us. Only slight neg is there were more people than anticipated, but did not affect class just space to move around. Recommend it!
Had a wonderful time! Would absolutely recommend!
Had such a great time! Would highly recommend. Will definitely go again
My friends and I had a really great time at the pottery class. A few of us were late due to transport issues but Lenny and Stephanie were really accommodating and helpful. You can make anything you want and you also get to throw clay, so you make two pieces. Great vibes, cool music, I would definitely recommend!
The session was lots fun. Had a lot of freedom to make what we wanted and had some really good direction from the teachers. Would recommend!
An excellent taster class including hand moulding with coiling and wheel throwing - came away with three pieces, even with time to paint them! The team were super friendly and helped save many a pottery fail, thanks again for a great afternoon!
Excellent workshop with attentive teachers.
The class was good, Lenny was very attentive and a great teacher to be around. Had a lot of fun with the clay and both teachers were really helpful with the practical side of the classy. The only thing lacking was towards the end, as the class didn't feel as though it was rounded up. No telling us what would happen with the ceramics we made, no explanation of the next processes or why we were not able to take our work away. Other than that really good fun
Steph and Lenny are really great at delivering the perfect balance of instruction, advice, teaching, support, a sense of humour; and knowing when to leave you to your own devices and create. The class was fun, inspiring, collaborative, mellow and the flow throughout the two hours was great. Enough time to learn, create, feel proud and then want to return already! Whether you have some experience, or none at all, you will be looked after and will walk away having made something to be proud of for sure.
had an excellent time in the class and was surprised by how much we managed to do in 2 hours
The workshop was extremely fun, entertaining and informative and the hosts were patient, helpful and extremely friendly. All around, it was an amazing experience, 10/10 recommend it :)
Had the most lovely time with my partner! I had zero experience in the field, yet because of the super welcoming and amazing instructors, I managed to create something of my own. It was a beautiful and relaxed time at the studio, hopefully, we will have a chance to visit again! 10/10
fun class, everyone was v friendly and helpful!!
Me and my wife took the taster course and absolutely loved it! Stephanie is a great teacher and the space has a really wonderful atmosphere. Can’t wait to see what we made!
My friends and I went for a pottery taser session. The teachers were very helpful and made the session lots of fun. I only wish the session was longer because it went by quickly.
So much fun!
Really fun afternoon - the group size was perfect such that you could get individual instruction, but it wasn’t overbearing. Would highly recommend!
Very nice workshop and teachers were super friendly and helpful! Would definitely go again
The taster class was great and the teacher amazing! Definitely would love to go back
I highly recommend this workshop - the teachers are very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Can't wait to bring my clay babies home!
excellent!
I loved this class, the space is cosy , friendly and professional , I can't wait to go back with more friends! Thanks
Friendly instructor and great result! Can't wait to use the first bowl I made myself :)
Stephanie was helpful, caring and calming. Once my confidence grew over a few classes, she was laid back and happy to let me get on. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants a chilled evening of learning new skills.
The session was lots of fun and Stephanie was very warm and friendly. I am excited to see how my vase turns out!
Such a great workshop! Stephanie is a patient, kind and inspiring teacher! It is a lovely way how to get introduced to a wonderful world of ceramics! Plus you can always stay a little bit longer ( for a little extra fee) if you need a bit extra time to finish off your work! The workshop is held in a cosy studio where you can play and get creative!
Great fun to make ceramics gifts and improve my hand skills in the session. Stephanie is very informative and made everything seems easy.
