What you will do
7.5 hour class
This Introduction to Management course aims to arm newly appointed managers with the tools they will need to nurture a happy, enthusiastic, high achieving team. You will begin by understanding the roles and responsibilities of a manager, as well as the managerial process, in order to understand the goal you are working towards. You will then go on to develop a range of skills necessary to be an effective manager. These including communication skills such as effective listening and questioning as well as building rapport; team leading such as setting objectives, observation and feedback and leadership styles; and leading meetings including participation, staying on track and maintaining a clear purpose. This will lead you on to more challenging areas of management such as handling difficult situations professionally as well as areas of self management including managing stress, time management and prioritisation. At the end of the day you will create an action plan to set out how you can take these skills and use them in your role. This course is suitable for anyone newly appointed to a managerial role.
