Rootlabs is an urban growing organisation that specialises in high tech growing techniques. They have recently converted an old London double decker bus into a high tech vertical strawberry farm, plant shop and community space. It is parked at the Mercato Metropolitano sustainable food market in the beautiful outdoor courtyard garden.

Our plant experts deliver a range of workshops around plant care, high tech food growing, and the creation of living displays. Visitors can taste a range of delicious produce grown in the high tech farm and then relax with some food or drinks in the surrounding garden.

A really educational time spent understanding the different soil and climate requirements and house plants. A great and generous selection of plants an objects. Great venue. Left with a gorgeous new table top planter.

I learnt all about which plants live well together, how to make the perfect potting mix, and how to combine it all into a really pretty display. The teacher was really nice and the venue is great, loads of good food and drinks.

Me and my mum learnt all about different types of plants. We had a huge range to choose from, some of which I had never seen before. The teacher was really friendly and knew loads about plants. The class was just outside Rootlabs were they have converted a double decker bus into an urban farm, very cool.

I had a great time at the miniature living landscape workshop with Rootlabs. Not only did I have a really fun time creating my own miniature living landscape with plants and flowers of my choice but also learned a whole bunch of interesting things on the history of plants and gardening. The workshops that Rootlabs regularly runs are an excellent way to mentally 'escape' from the busy urban environment while still in the city and meet new people that are keen to explore the art of gardening and planting further. I am looking forward to attending their next workshops.
